Re: Should the _Times_ be anonymous?

The following slightly alters Rich's idea of using the POSTing
mechanism. It allows for direct payment to the character, without the
credit line, and also allows for anonymous posting. However, it has
(at least) two drawbacks:

1) Tith TIMES as an order, you have to submit your press at
the same time as your orders.
2) The interface is clunky. I hate having to count lines.
It makes posting less convenient (bug, or feature?).

Still, here it is, as an idea...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIMES <# of lines of text> <flag> time: 0 days priority: 2
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Publish an article in the Olympit Times.

The number of lines in the article should be given as an argument to
TIMES, followed by a flag indicating whether the submission should be
attributed to the poster. The first submission for a faction will
earn a credit of 25 gold pieces.

The flag determines whether the article will be attributed to the
author. A flag of 1 does do attribution, while a flag of 0 (the
default) does not. If Osswid [501] issues the following commands:

times 4 1
Oleg and Dr. Pain sitting in a tree,
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love, then comes marriage,
Then comes Bastrestric ther Archymonaged in a baby carriage.

the result in the Times will be:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Oleg and Dr. Pain sitting in a tree,
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love, then comes marriage,
Then comes Bastrestric ther Archymonaged in a baby carriage.

-- Osswid [501]

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Alternatively, if Osswid didn't want to sign his message, he could
have used "TIMES 4" or "TIMES 4 0".

Take care to carefully count the lines of text in the article. If the
wrong number of lines is given, your character may end up including
orders in a Times article, instead of executing them.

Each line of text should be less than 60 characters long, or the
article will be rejected.
