Starting on G2 turn 40, the following rule change will be in effect:
Prisoners and NPCs will no longer add to a stack's count of nobles for the computation of the movement delay. (Item-controlled units are exempt, and count as a noble)

The New Empire has finally received some communication from PLATO regarding the situation around Yellowleaf. Given that their rationale for the war was the heavy handed tone assumed by Mike Blaser, aka Fox, the former ruler of the New Empire, the tone of their messages leave something to be desired. I will include some samples below, any who want the complete text of the exchange may email me.
OlegUs idea of a peace offer:
>You had 2 choices: > >1) Run like hell from Yellowleaf, and the war becomes moot. > >2) Do what you're doing now, and the war continues. > >You have now chosen. I can't say that I think you made a very wise >choice. But the people who used to be your allies are not willing >to help you, especially when you had option #1.
One of his responseUs. He seems to think I control every faction in the Yellowleaf area:
>> Much of what is going on in the area are not actions taken by New >> Empire factions, but rather retaliation for LC attacks on formerly >> neutral or newbie factions. > >But you get the blame for it. None of these people have written email >to the LC, so they are assumed to be your minions. Your problem, not >mine.
He doesnUt appear to think much of newbies:
>If you do mail me back again, please try to be concise, and leave off >all the bits about orphaned widows of newbie players. You're wasting >my time.
Again, his low opinion of newbies shows, as well as his idea of diplomacy:
>> And I thought that I said no in my first message. > >If you did, it was lost in all the whining about orphan newbies. > >But you can stop accusing us of not offering peace. You could have had >it, but you are too stupid to take us up on it.
It seems that PLATO would prefer that the New Empire roll over and play dead, so they can declare victory and go about the tyrannical ways in peace. Alas, such is not to be.
Any factions who suffer due to the depredations of PLATO and who are interested in doing something about it, contact me for details at email@example.com.

Many thanks to all my contributors, and an apology to everyone. RL demands on my time (work! ugh! :-( ) haven't allowed me to update the map recently. Hopefully (crossed-fingers) this weekend I'll squeeze a few moments out of this hectic schedule.
For the newcomers that ask for advice and offered help with the mapping; Not ignoring you, just no time to respond in a timely manner to my mail. And Mike, say a prayer for me, I might just find time to implement those tools you sent. ;-)
My woefully un-updated page for all G2 players is still up at:
You can send contributions (and gripes) to me at:

Your ever-looking for some extra hours in the day public servant,
-- Stahl & Stein [rm4]
In the recent activities around Yellowleaf, there have been claims that "neutral" factions have been attacked. Yet not one of these "neutral" factions has written to complain.
If you know of any "neutral" factions in the Yellowleaf area who have either been harmed, or have gotten excited and blew away a few garrisons without thinking, please contact me immediately. Our war was with the so-called "New Empire", not newbies.
-- Oleg the Loudmouth
To mighty Cernennos, fiercest of Officers, destroyer of Empires:
All is well if not quiet on the eastern front as of this message. Of late a foolish enemy officer avenged himself on garrisons and paid for it with his life as our loyal garrison killed him. Welcomed is Tyr's reknowned horsemanship and bounty hunting skills.
Let me be the first to congratulate you. Rumblings from Camaris have your name being shopped as Shogun pending Senate confirmation. In the capitol, bards weave tales of your forces being as innumerable as the sands of Omaha Beach and compare them to locusts devouring all in the Harvest month. In whispered hushes your arrows are said to blot out the sun when unnotched. Also said is that the din of your forces in battle is second only to Oleg's thunderous epithats!!
I bid you do not sojourn long on your present course. Your brilliant feint has served its purpose and made you an Olympian legend. Ming expects a full battle report and debriefing so tarry not. Ere the Times be slow to reach you, Ming has proclaimed you attack no noble with less than 25 enlisted men or four officers. Methinks skullduggery be present there among the empire politicians. Having uncorked the lamp, rubbed it, felt the Djinn's wrath, they have begged Ming to stay his hand, knowing I am the mercilessness in his title. Use better judgement for known felons, collaborators and sympathizers. I authorize 72 hour liberty for your warriors in Yellowleaf upon your return.
As I have spoken this, the scribes have written it, so let it be until there is no enemy but peace.

Song #6: another Led Zep classic:
Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. The hammer of the gods Will drive their ships to new lands, To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming! On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.
Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. How soft your fields so green, Can whisper tales of gore, Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords. On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now you'd better stop and rebuild your ruins, For peace and trust can win the day Despite all your losing.
