My Olympia II page for all G2 players is up at:

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Cavern/4545/

I've added some new terrain data to the map of Provinia (table format: Netscape 3.x or higher is recommended.) I'm putting the new map data up as my time allows. I've made a start on the rework of the site, and on making it user friendly for those w/o table-capable browsers. Look for the coming changes in the next couple of weeks, and continue sending your contributions to me at:

bswain@nyx.net or stahl_und_stein@hotmail.com

I'm still seeking player essays, articles, etc. and will act as host to most any Olympia related info. You send the material and I'll put it into HTML as my time permits. I'm also interested in linking to any other Olympia related sites, so send those URLs gents.

Let it be known that the Red Fort is now the new seat of the House of Carnelian. I claim the Azure City (db44) and the lands adjoining as our fief to guard and protect under the seal of the mighty Baron Bob. All honest men and traders are welcome. Also let it be known that a rich mine is being built in the mountains nearby and the ownership of the mine shall go to the first skilled miner to apply to me in return for a contract to supply the Red Fort in iron and steel.

Report on the Siege at Grenth Month 1

Our southern garrison spotted the force early in the month. By the time word reached the Keep, two provinces were overrun. The enemy force was gaining soldiers as it marched, but this also slowed its movement, giving us three months.

The mine provided a rich source of iron; the lumberjacks brought wood into the Keep; the battle trainers soon had a crowd of 60 wanting to become hardened soldiers for the City-State; the mages watched the advancing army with their Crystal Balls; the diplomats sued for peace and alliance with neighbors; and all the while, the enemy leader did not respond to diplomatic messages. The outcome would be bloody.

When the force arrived at Grenth, we were prepared. Our tacticians estimated that an immediate attack would result in an enemy rout, and their leader knew this. We settled in for a siege.

**

The enemy knew that the surest way to win was to starve our forces. We had on reserve enough gold to pay the soldiers for half a year, and some of the provincial tax income was still filtering to the castle; we knew the enemy would soon send excursionary forces to the outlying provinces to destroy this income. A rescue force was being planned in a nearby city, and our mages plotted in the towers.

Karn Evil 9 Third Impression

Man alone; born of stone; Will stamp the dust of time His hands strike the flame of his soul; Ties a rope to a tree and hangs the Universe Until the winds of laughter blows cold.

Fear that rattles in men's ears And rears it's hideous head Dread .... Death .... in the wind ....

Man of steel pray and kneel With fever's blazing torch Thrust in the face of the night; Draws a blade if compassion Kissed by countless Kings Whose jewelled trumpet words blind his sight.

Walls that no man thought would fall The altars of the just Crushed .... Dust .... in the wind ....

No man yields who flies in my ship DANGER! Let the bridge computer speak STRANGER! LOAD YOUR PROGRAM. I AM YOURSELF.

No computer stands in my way Only blood can cancel my pain Guardians of a new clear dawn Let the maps of war be drawn.

Rejoice! Glory is ours! Our young men have not died in vain, Their graves need no flowers The tapes have recorded their names.

I am all there is NEGATIVE! PRIMITIVE! LIMITED! I LET YOU LIVE! But I gave you life WHAT ELSE COULD YOU DO? To do what was right I'M PERFECT! ARE YOU?

Let it be known that I, Eugene La Chatel, claim the area east of and including line 50, and south of and including line dg, extenting east towards Branwen and south towards Harn.

I advice against hostility around Fortress Harn. As you may know from the Jheremai Chronicles, the Black Flag Battalion is posted nearby.
