Player-contributed press

I have placed the draft proposed changes for Olympia game G2 on the pbm.com web site for review, at:

http://www.pbm.com/oly/g2-changes.html

They have also been posted to rec.games.pbm. A launch date for G2 has not yet been determined.

Those interested in G2 balance issues should review the list of changes with an eye towards finding any potential problems.

I should have listened to myself. Breeding dragons is very boring. I think I'll go exploring instead.

-------------------------------- South & West CAMARIS Update --------------------------------

Monthly notice: every new visitor to either of our two fair isles should notify us in advance. (We'll only get back to you if there's a problem)

-- The Crazy Quilters [vn7]

-- STRIKING BACK AGAINST TYRANNY -- A NOTICE TO ALL OLYMPIANS

Things seem to be winding down...for now. This will be the last of the press postings for a while.

Sooner or later will come a time when I cannot be with you. Rest assured, though, that the war against tyranny will not end with me. Many of you have asked after the secret of my power. You will have it. In the upcoming months, I will record my knowledge on Olympian magic and warfare and publish it here, where all can see.

If my words are studied by even a few, the tyrants will never again be safe.

Meanwhile, here is the latest list of the slain but unrited.

Orpheus [hc0t] Udder [w8k] Amber [iw7e] Dorothy [bg4b] Snowdrop [w9n] Pathemes [p4x] Carcerce [g4s] Lily [fa8h] Soriyli [h9m] Quincunx [e6x] Ikving [r3l] Buttercup [hy4c] Wenditel [c2r] Muffella [x0c] Limper [a6c] Medusa [k6z] Iris [g0h] Distressed Lady [ee8k] Florella [bs7k] Destiny [x8h]

Customer Testamonial on behalf of the First Bank of Provinia

Greetings, Provinians! My name's Jack and these are my beans. I'm a trader. I travel Provinia buying and selling the finest beans and linen. How did I get this great career? The First Bank of Provinia gave me a small-business loan. That's how! They have everything a businessman like myself could need: low-interest loans, high interest rates, newbie bonuses, warehouse facilities, shipping services... What else could you ask for?

So take it from me, Jaques et ses Haricots, don't wind up lying in the gutters of Imperial City weaving baskets. Stop by the First Bank of Provinia a call. You'll be glad you did.

-- Jaques et ses Haricots [x1a]

Greetings to all Olympians, may your futures be bright as we attempt to move past these times of strife and war. The deeds of the honorable shall not be forgotten. The deeds of the evil shall be forgotten once the evildoer is gone. And all evildoers shall not be suffered for long.

-- Daleon [s5l]

The First Bank of Provinia is now back in action. Despite what it says, our old web site is still usable until the new one goes live at around the start of December. Tune in for more info.

Due to the large amount of battles and things going on we are currently having a sale of War Mounts at our main IC office. If you want to buy bulk then we can offer a substantial discount.

As for other things, we are extremely short of Elfstones at the moment and have a need for them. If to can oblige we will pay handsomely.

-- First Bank of Provinia [v0z]

Rumors

. . . and a beach . . . B-)

"YOU THERE!!", the leader barked. "Who rules this planet!?!" The peasant backed against the wall of the shop, shivers were evident upon his skin. "Uh, me suh, are yu talkeen tu me?" "Of course, whelp! Do you think I talk to that wall!?!", the large one bellowed. "Commander, he obviously doesn't know a thing, look at how he's dressed. He must be a slave!", stated the female with flaming red hair. "Hey, now. I not be uh slave, I have me pride yuno. Servunt mayhaps, but nevuh slave!" "ANSWER MY QUESTION NOW, SLAVE! OR YOUR PITIFUL LIFE IS FORFEIT!", veins stood out upon the large ones neck, and his strange forehead shook with rage. "Ruler uf planeet? Whut planeet? Dook Zeegan owns these pahts about, but it ees Proveneah, not planeet." "BAH, these people are STUPID! They don't even know they are on a planet. Well, they will make good workers for the Empire! Come, let us find out more about this Zeegan!" And with that, the group of strangers turned and strode back to the main streets of Imperial City, leaving behind the crumpled form of a poor peasant, face crushed by the cruel blow that the large one had delivered.

The deadline is past. Anyone who hasn't surrendered to Oleg will be terminated next month. Resistance is futile.

Has any new faction heard from the RGS? Or are they all dead?

I hate it when I forget to send in orders while one of my nobles is flying over water.

To attack the owner of an island from a ship must one be the ship captain in order to issue the attack order? Or will the ship 'know' to move to the island if a non-ship captain gives the Attack order?

With Kaden tweaking the AOO's nose like this, methinks he won't be around long. No one can hide for very long when their ID is known.

Ouch! That hurt.

We wish to congradulate the Hand on his rousing attack against the strongholds of despotism in this world, the world downunder, and in Faerie.

We have been around Olympia a long time. We have dreamed of doing something like this ourselves but were destroyed by another tyrant before we could act. We are green with jealousy, but also happy that a new age has indeed dawned. For while the AOO are powerful still, they are but a shadow of the tyranny they once were.

We have not been totally idle, however, as my priestly friend has seen to it that some who died at the Chateau will not return. At least we have played a small part in these great events!

Death to the tyrants!

-Samual Adams, back from a long long time ago.

Treachery will rule.

Revenge is a dish best served cold!

Well, "BtA's Hole" never did get built, but the dead body of Merd will haunt him & his to early graves.

Here I come.

Has Brett Miller of the RGS dropped?

With the elimination of more and more AOO nobles, it may just be time to start recaiming some land!

The AOO will be doomed by a new order.

Ahhhh! Once again I feel the wind in my face and smell the salty air. I am where I belong.......on the sea.

Walk with the fool, then you shall be fooler. Walk with the wise, then you be wiser. Walk with the stronger, and you'll be stronger. Walk with the meek, and you shall inherit this earth. So wipe your weeping eyes and consider your ways.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan to learn religion this turn. After that I will research it until I get last rites to lay those dirty AOO buggers to rest. Long live The Hand!
