If Invincibility in not an inalienable right,

then invincibility must be an alienable right.

Or is it that vincibility is an inalienable right.

Or maybe invincibility is an inalienable wrong.

In any case it is wrong for aliens to be invincible.

Therefore the AOO must be aliens because they are not invincible.

House Greyfletch is currently undertaking an expedition for the Royal Geographical Society. The Grey Bird [fd1t] is currently circumnavigating the world. It is flying a Royal Geographical Banner. If you see it bumping against your coastline, or visiting your port, don't be alarmed, it's just passing through.

NEW MEMBERSHIP

We are happy to announce the addition of Order of the Yellow Peacocks [rk8] to the Charter Membership of the Society. The Order of the Yellow Peacocks has pledged to lead an expedition into the unknown areas southwest of Provinia, and will embark from IC shortly. Welcome, brothers! Let the Great Work proceed!

AN EXCHANGE OF BEASTS

In the interests of further strengthening our Drucartan defenses, we now add a new wrinkle to our earlier offer: We will not only trade beasts for crossbowmen, but also greater beasts for lesser beasts. If you currently have large numbers of chimerae, centaurs, rats, or whatnot, and would like to trade them for dragons, giant birds, nazgul or winged horses, then by all means contact our representative at the address below. Certainly some kind of arrangement can be made.

THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY

is a non-political, non-aligned Organization devoted to the exploration of Olympia and its environs. Each week, we publish our findings in the New Atlas, which is distributed to the Membership at large. We are currently seeking new Members, who must be Factions in good standing, and who must also satisfy the following criteria:

* Charter Membership. A large, one-time gift of new mapping information, or agreement to undertake an RGS Expedition, or a significant contribution of resources in support of the Society and its cause. Charter Members are announced each week in the Olympia Times. They receive updates of the New Atlas on a regular basis, and gain access to the RGS archives.

* Affilitate Membership. Any reasonable contribution of new mapping information entitles a Faction to Affiliate status. The identities of our Affiliates are kept strictly secret. They receive an update of the Atlas upon each submission of new information.

ASSISTANCE FOR STARTING FACTIONS

The Society extends the hand of friendship to all recently-formed Factions. We will send any such Faction one copy of the New Atlas, free of obligation, together with whatever advice and assistance our humble Organization can provide.

For more information, contact our Representative, the Honorable Brett Miller, at 103534.1454@compuserve.com .

THE RGS WEB SITE

The Royal Geographical Society wishes to express its gratitude to the First Bank of Provinia, which has set up a web page on our behalf. To access this work-in-progress, go to:

We salute the Bank, friend of the Society and of all good Olympians!

>I just defeated some pirates with lots of licorice. Does anyone know >where I can sell it?

Alas I only know of one City that makes and sells licorice.

>I found a bunch of "purple cloth [113]" >Does anyone know where there is a city that buys this stuff? >If so, please tell me!

Again one city sells it. However for this and Licorice (above) the bank is willing to buy these since we have the best contacts for finding out where to sell these.

>Or I might be lying.

And through your teeth as well!

>ka-ching! What do ya think of that?

Do you want me to be tactful or truthful? Tactful: It's naff. Truthful: It's completely naff, crass, and a waste of Electrons! (^_^)

>> Why not try our Web site? > >Because it has a horrid background pattern that >makes it almost unreadable. If you want to see >an example of good background textures, look at >a book.

OK. Thank you for speaking out. But since there are many kinds of browser available, the pages can be viewed in many ways. One of which is by switching off the background. That background was chossen because it IS easy to read text on it. The colour scale is no greater than the normal 16 colour value of Grey. Since you are the only one who objects, I will not change it at present. However I am in the process of re-doing the Olympia pages. And don't see any page from you - so until I do...

>How is this for bad luck... >After months of Necromancy research, the only spell >I discover is the Transcend Death spell. As if I have >a NP to spare just to gain one more aura point. Geez!

I sympathize. Some of my Nobels have spent many a month locked up in a tower performing research. It is my experience that the amount of un-studied skills has a perverse effect of research.

Rumors

They call me Mr. Putterman...

Pardon a newcomer's question, but what is the IN mentioned in the times?

. . . courtesy of the defunct . . . B-)

Like I said, I am not a mole, but I know who is one.

Some hints: He cheats. He recently joined. He scattered his nobles throughout the alliance.

Sound like anyone you know?

"He flung himself on his horse and rode madly off in all directions"

> Anybody mind if I stomp Noren into the dirt? Speak now, > since you might not have a chance to whine later.

Of course I would mind. Please do not. And in case you haven't figured, those were _my_ orcs. Please consider, I've still lost several orcs to you. What more do you want? Blood?

Is everyone getting these problems with their turn? I can't seem to find two of my nobles?? Did somebody take them?

The First Bank of Provinia is the Answer Guy !!

Peace! . . What peace? I was just attached last turn! Woe is me....

The AOO is not out to bash newbies -- who has the time? There are people out there that actually have stuff worth taking, while all newbies have is a bit of gold. One castle provides more money than a newbie can come up with, and then there are all those neat magic weapons, potions, scrolls, books, control items, etc. etc. etc.

If you can't think of anything better to say than: "Water, water everywhere, and still only 25 gold" or "Gold for the needy" or "Ka-ching" you must have a pretty crappy imagination. Rumors are an important part of Olympian society, don't abuse there usage. The Protectorate of the Sacred Rumor

Who is that mole?

Gold for the needy!

Waaaahhhhh!!!!!

Perhaps lines from Dr. Seuss would fit better?

Why is the route from Emperor's Garden [by22] to the Ocean [bz22] Impassible? I have to move my ship!

Water, water everywhere (except for those impassable mountains, of course) and still only 25 gold.

And she smiled, "Why, pupil, you can't bend spoons. It 's only a trick."

XXXX Update: 3 factions and counting. Well, this is less than encouraging. There has only been two rumor postings of factions willing to fight the AOO at some point. Once again, this is simply a poll to see how many are willing. I am not the AOO. I just want to see if there is any chance of mounting an universal rebellion. Once again, simply append a "XXXX" to a rumor. And if you have already done so. I thank you. Please continue to do so in order for us to get an continuous count. - XXXX

Alright, you savages, put down that drum and fight like nobles.

Are wolves on a ship called sea dogs ?

If you could tell me why I should or shouldn't bring down the AOO maybe I'd be interested. Or even who they are? XXXX

It is heard in the streets of IC: something new is coming... in satin...

Bye Bye

The new clan is now six.

Dontcha hate it when yer rumours get delayed in the post? Top-Tip #1: Post rumours as your first actions to gurantee the money.

Avast ye lubbers! The Polychromatic Pirate be in town! Does ye know the whereabouts of the vixen, Amber Lynn? I's be thinkin' to spend some serious shore leave w'er!
