I think the key issue here is that, as far as I know,
there is no way to intiate an attack from within a
structure on an enemy outside that structure.  (This
always made me very confused about ship-to-ship
combat though.  Maybe that's a special case?)  I
don't recall a case of a ship attacking another
ship in g1 though.  I have been suspecting that
that was why the "Add Ram to Galley" skill was
taken out of g2; you can't attack from within a
galley anyhow.  Either that or the fact that nobody
had used that skill over five years of Olympia.
Creeping anti-featurism!  Oly g29 will actually be
Atlantis 1.0.
At any rate, in my experience all attackers must be
stacked together and within sight of what they're
attacking.  I.e. you can attack a structure but not
a noble *in* a structure.  As far as moving out of
a tower within a castle I believe that permissions
or sneakiness is required.
