Player-contributed press

Hello again from TIB. It's been a while since out last post to the Times, and we wanted to once again remind all players in the Drassa region to take a moment and check out our web site at: http://members.aol.com/seehawk42 for vital information on life in Drassa.

It should also be noted that the information on the web site, while especially valuable for Drassans is also of great importance to any of our neighbors. Players in the Greyfell, Port Aurnos and Rimmon regions should also be aware of TIB and our borders, as well as any factions located on Ormos, Tollus or the central regions of Provinia.

TIB territory is quite large, and we sincerely hope to maintain friendly relations with all of our neighbors.

Thanks for your time. Eric the Seehawk

The third month of Shadow-watch long past We scorn the cowards That bray their boasts like donkeys in the Times And yet scurry like mice into the mists of anonymity

Being an Arcadian society we have viewed the talk about a new war starting in the Yellowleaf area with great disdain. We arrived during the last war. We were able to avoid the conflict with sage advice given to us by the Illustrated Man. Without his tutorage we would have been a casualty of the afore mentioned war. We thank him for his help. When we were faced with the possiblity of extinction, Lord Foul and the Musketeers offered us sanctuary and a safe haven for my faction. The Musketeers have been a beacon of light in an angry sea. I hope my faction can emulate their standards of conduct. When my faction and The Lords of the Crown were embroiled in a major confrontation we were able to open a dialog that led to an understanding of each other's concerns. With this understanding, we were able to forge a working relationship that allowed the extraction of resources from LotC controlled lands. I have a Forester harvesting lumber, a Magic user Performing common tasks for gold, and a noble studying mining all in LotC controlled lands. I am not a member of the LotC but this has not impeded my faction's growth in their lands. I obey their rules and laws like any guest in someone's sphere of influence should. I am an independent faction that controls no land or any castles. I have no army or any garrisons. But by obeying the rules and regulations of the lands that I visit, I have been able to increase my factions wealth and well being.

Notice to all new or recent immigrants to Drassa: A fast-growing empire has run into staffing problems and is unable to keep up with growth. We are in need of some help in garrisoning our domain and we will pay for each garrison installed; we will also pay for the first inn, temple, or tower built in one of our cities AND you may occupy them for your own gain. Building of mines can also be negotiated. This offer is only good for Drassan (relative) newbies. Mentoring is available to those that may want it. If you are interested please contact us at 6650@g2_pbm.com

Espionage Alert:

Reliable sources inside the Shadow Alliance indicate that the current rumors portending war in the southern Provinia area are an attempt by elements of the Shadow Alliance to incite renewed warfare in the region between the Harn Alliance and the Lords of the Crown. These factions will stage a raid somewhere in the region with the intent of creating renewed conflict which can be exploited by the New Empire remnants, who have supplied the SA with funds to carry out this plan.

My fellow Olympians. In my plotting and scheming I have wondered... What does it take to be 1rst in the various rankings? Characters: 17 1st

I've been shat on the last couple turns by Lee "the BRAVE". So far y'all only hear one side of the story. I haven't said nothing because it'd do me no good. I did take the his dang ship. But I ain't no pirate. Why don't y'all ask him the real reason I took his ship? This is between me and him. The rest of ya should just git and stop stickin your noses where they don't belong.

We have talked the matter over, and could have settled the war in thirty minutes had it been left to us.

An anonymous Confederate private, after he and a Union soldier had conversed between the lines

What historical paralell is this referring to?: The leader of the worlds mightiest alliance/empire goes to see the aggressively expanding leader of another alliance, to make sure that this is the last of his aggressive land claims/neigbour provocations. He returns a celebrated diplomat and proclaims: Peace in our Time! Roughly a year later world war breaks out because the aggresive guys were allowed to rebuild in peace.

Rest assured, this time a mighty horseman stands in their way.
