This week a player launched a brute-force attack against the pbm.com webserver in an attempt to get another player's turn.

Attempting to violate pbm.com's security to gain a game advantage goes beyond what I would consider to be "good sportsmanship", and is also unacceptable to me as system administrator of pbm.com.

I am removing the player from the game.

We have a new world before us. This unknown, unexplored land mass is just waiting for someone to find all it has in store.

We, The Travelers, are attempting to map this large world, but we can not do it alone. If you would be willing to donate the land portions of your turn to our efforts, you will be assisting in one of the greatest projects in Olympian History!

We also collect and distribute land claims and gate information.

A N N O U N C E M E N T =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The following is an official announcement from the New Empire, rulers of the lands surrounding Yellowleaf.

The following provinces are designated as wholly owned by the New Empire. No gathering of resources, either of stone, wood, peasants or otherwise, will be allowed in the following provinces.

df77 dg77 dh77 (And internal city) dh74 (And internal city)

This restriction also includes any and all internal locations within these provinces.

This list does not preclude the possibility that other locations will be added at a later date. This message does not supersede the information tendered in previous postings from the New Empire.

Please note, Yellowleaf [dh78] remains a free zone.

In addition, no activities which lower the tax base of any garrisoned location will be tolerated. Such activities have a direct effect on the functioning of the Empire and, as such, will be seen as a hostile act on the part of the issuing faction. For example we have recently communicated these facts through to a thief we know to be operating within West Yellowleaf. If Birk of Bakthar [3010] does not immediately desist from Petty Thievery activities in Empire garrisoned territories all locatable nobles from this person's faction will be hunted down and executed.

In reply to Cutter [8256] you and all other nobles are free to do whatever you please within the safe haven of East Yellowleaf. The Empire makes no pretence that it is either willing or able to subdue factions within the Safe Haven province. Also, we are not interested in hiring external contractors at this point in time but thankyou for your urban development proposition. We will keep your application on file.

We now return you to your normal service...

Let it be known that the Order of St Christophe and the Free Guild of Traders lay claim to The City [s56] in province [dk45] and all adjacent provinces. Our allies in G1 are most welcome. All others are advised to stay clear or notify us in advance of their coming.

Over the bustle of commerce in Yellowleaf comes the sound of loud banging. Above a small house near the top of the city, a strange person stands on a ladder, hammering a nail into a sign. Those who move closer observe that this man is covered, from head to foot, in strange, swirling patterns of beasts, ships, and castles. Closer still, they observe that the sign reads THE ILLUSTRATED MAN'S SMITHY, CURIO SHOP, & TATTOO PARLOR Closer still, they note the ease with which his noble number, 1010, can be remembered. He opens his mouth, and this is what he says:

"Come one, come all, to the Illustrated Man's Grand Opening!

You've looked around; you've seen the rest; Now look no further! Here's the best! The man with pictures on his chest!

The following items are currently going up for sale, with more expected to be added regularly:

Wood: 8 gp, quantity 53 Far cheaper than Yellowleaf's prices! Crossbows: 15 gp, quantity 7 Blast those monsters with ease, with the Illustrated Man's fine weapons! Horses: 80 gp, quantity 3 Cheaper than Elantir! Cheaper than Trullion! Let the IM fulfill all your equine needs!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST>>>>

Maps: 50 gp The Maps of the Illustrated Man were famous throughout G1. Now you too can own your own personal maps of the world and the Yellowleaf area. These aren't just indecipherable ascii, or little colored blocks. Every terrain and interior location have their own graphic design or symbol. Background grids make finding locations easy. Plus, every 20x20 area has its own coordinate chart...no more scrolling all over the place looking for what number a particular province is. Our maps cover considerably more territory than other publicly available maps. Our northwestern border reaches to or nearly to Halith, Rhonius, Ganith, Cado, and Sesklos. Never heard of those cities? Then you'll need us, won't you? Best of all, the Illustrated Man will mail your map right to your house. Just give us your street address and we will mail you a map directly, in full color, suitable for hanging by your computer. Also, act now and we'll send you a fully legible map of the known world. You can get your map for free if you let us know 7 or more provinces that we didn't have before...namely, provinces around or to the northwest of the cities previously named. All info must be fully publishable. If you'd like to know our reputation, ask anyone from G1! They'll tell you! Buy in now, and get a discount on future editions! If you hail from Yellowleaf, you need to visit

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN [1010]!!!!!

I have noticed that players can send e-mails with and to characters. If I want to send a e-mail to a noble I send it to @g2.pbm.com but then my real e-mail adress is known by the reciver. I have recived mail from Sharn (4085@g2.pbm.com) and I wonder how it's done.

So I ask Sharn, share your knowledge with everyone. Press how you get a noble to send a mail.

Rumors

The enemies dead, or so it was said

They are few, but they build citadels upon the earth. They clean house with the dead. They play with the faery.

When the sound is heard, their mages will come out of their dusty libraries high in the towers; their men will gather at their cities; their beasts will be lined. They will march upon their ancestors' enemies, and great blood will be spilled.

They prepare with magicks and weapons of horrendous power. They breed the feared, scaled, creatures with wings. They prepare for an onslaught.

Know this: You are marked. If you interfere, you will have the rivers of magick flowing through your body -- forcefully.

Prepare for this onslaught, this siege that will destroy Provinia.

Yvengi is a louse!

Many voices shall rise in righteous wrath, speaking bold words against injustice; seducing many to follow in their way. Yet for all Noble ones who speak there shall arise another, and the masses shall follow their Imperator last spoken. Then shall chaos cloaked as order permeate the darkness, and the demons of light shall rule the first land through their guile.

Many shall be deceived by the false words of the Magisters, turning one way and then back the other. Uncertainty and indecision shall lead many astray, and no road shall offer certainty, nor peace, nor rest. The cohorts of the puppets shall prey upon the weak, and the blood of innocents shall run freely. Then shall none sleep easy when many daggers are sheathed from behind, as deception and betrayal become the companion of many.

Why don't those "New Empire" guys change names to "The Neo-AOO"? (That's what they sound like!!!)

Why do people keep "claiming" territory when they don't have a) a castle, b) a garrison, or c) a army of soldiers to defend it. It's is just plain arrogance! Also the Bod claiming the Sewers in Harn. I'm already down in the sewers! Therefore I consider them mine. If I ever come across you down here, you'll be dead meat!

The drums! The Drums! Arrggghhhhh! please make them stop, I can't take it any more!
