When you choose to allow another to make a choice, are you responsible for the results of their choice, when you could have intervened? Do we allow others to march their nobles and armies into war to be sucked up by the strong. In Olympia, with necromancy and such, the rule is "Enemies, till death do us join". To fight the strong is only to make them stronger. This is where Olympia so drasticaly parts from reality. If you Divide you won't be conquered. United opposition will be absorbed. Like the Borg, the Olympian strong become stronger with each new encounter. But when do they have time for real life?

The Reservoir Gods hereby announce the untimely demise of Captain 'Flash git' O'Rourke whose legendary luck ran out last month when he was attacked by a Horde of Dragons (tm).
Flash was in Petelinus making a few pots to sell to the local townfolk in order to pay his eight trusty sailors. His Royal Geographical Society Banner flew proudly in the wind for everybody to see. The AOO then launched a cunning stealth attack on his ship, the RGS Cunning Stunt. Flash barely had time to put his trousers back on and hide his inflatable sheep before Ernest[bc5d] , wielding all sorts of magical weapons and accompanied by 12 workers, 13 sailors , 20 crossbowmen , 17 barbarians , 2 Pikemen ,1 skeleton , 13 orcs, 6 cyclops , 3 nobles and 235 dragons burst into his cabin and beat the living sh*t out of him. He died soon after from internal bleeding and wounded pride.
The Reservoir Gods are pleased to see that the AOO have not forgotten the meaning of subtlety and are still willing to fight a fair fight. Next time , please tell us and we will arrange for our entire Dragon Force(tm) , which numbers about 6 , to meet you head on in battle.
Actually , we have no desire to fight the wondrous and mighty AOO , who obviously had good reason to destroy Flash. If they hadn't done it ,we would have done it ourselves.He was getting far to big for his boots anyway. Thank you.

WAR IN THE SOUTH
Sadly, hostilities have now broken out between the AOO and the Factions of the New Empire. Travellers in the south are advised to steer away from the continents of Ilion and Tollus, lest they become swept up in the general fighting.
We have also received unconfirmed rumors of renewed hostilities in Ossicus, to the East. Travellers there are urged to take all necessary precautions.
The RGS charter requires that we remain neutral in all such affairs. We will seek to maintain our good relations with both sides in the conflict, and will continue to pursue any existing trade agreements until further notice.
We also offer our services as a potential broker of peace. We would be honored to act as a neutral go-between for the aggrieved parties, either formally or informally.

THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY
is a non-political, non-aligned Organization devoted to the exploration of Olympia and its environs. Each week, we publish our findings in the New Atlas, which is distributed to the Membership at large. We are currently seeking new Members, who must be Factions in good standing, and who must also satisfy the following criteria:
* Charter Membership. A large, one-time gift of new mapping information, or agreement to undertake an RGS Expedition, or a significant contribution of resources in support of the Society and its cause. Charter Members are announced each week in the Olympia Times. They receive updates of the New Atlas on a regular basis, and gain access to the RGS archives.
* Affiliate Membership. Any reasonable contribution of new mapping information entitles a Faction to Affiliate status. The identities of our Affiliates are kept strictly secret. They receive an update of the Atlas upon each submission of new information.
ASSISTANCE FOR STARTING FACTIONS
The Society extends the hand of friendship to all recently-formed Factions. We will send any such Faction one copy of the New Atlas, free of obligation, together with whatever advice and assistance our humble Organization can provide.

By the time you read this, the nobles listed below should all be supporting Olympia from six feet under. (They're dead.)
Many or most of the nobles belong to the Aolian Circle [cu9], Clann Dhabaid [qr2] or the Garden People [ml1], all active members of the Ancient Order of Olympians. In fact, they were not attacked for being with the AOO. They were attacked for being among those primarily responsible for keeping ALL of us outside the AOO, hero and villain alike, under their heel, restricted from Faery, restricted from Hades, restricted from auraculums and real magical power, restricted from any real growth that might allow us to escape their control. In this way, they keep us weak, weak enough to be victimized fresh out of the Imperial City or targeted for massive, unprovoked attacks which destroy not just factions, but whole alliances.
The listed nobles are hopefully slain, but they are not yet destroyed. Removing them permanently requires that they receive last rites. Last Rites(tm) can be performed by any priest with the skill in any temple. There is no need to have the body handy and there is no risk of discovery. Most of these nobles have 10 or more study weeks of skills, extra NPs invested or both. If we can give them last rites before they are resurrected, the tyrannical factions will feel it. Join me now in giving the tyrants their very first, long-deserved Halloween nightmare.
