Player-contributed press

If I add an order to the end of my list of orders for each noble to make pots, at least my turn isn't totally wasted if my orders blow up.

---------------------- S. CAMARIS Update ----------------------

Monthly notice: any new visitors to our fair isle should notify us in advance.

Slowly the blood trickles into the stream of woe and despair. The shattered skulls of the scoffers betray their faith. My heel snuffs the last embers of life, as they gasp no more.

-- The Brotherhood [wf7]

I have noticed that there have been alot of new players joining the game over the last few turns. Some of you may have gotten an offer from General Norc to travel to Occicus and join the Liberty Confederation. You may have wondered if the offer was for real and if General Norc could be trusted. Let me reassure you that the offer is genuine and The Liberty Confederation can be trusted. I got such an offer when I joined and decided to go check it out. The Liberty Confederation and General Norc has done everything they said they'd do if I joined plus some. So come join us, you won't regret it.

Customer Testamonial on behalf of the First Bank of Provinia

Greetings, Provinians! My name's Jech Ercheflo the Friendly Thin Guy. I'm a Trader. I travel Provinia buying and selling and trading everything from the highest grade avinia leaf to the cheap woven baskets that I buy off of broke lowlifes in Imperial City. Now as you might imagine, with half-breeds like Swishbuckler bending everyone in sight, Provinia is not always as friendly and peaceful as me. So I don't like carrying large amounts of cash on a trade run, if you know what I mean. That's why I bank at First Provinia: low-interest loans, high interest rates, newbie bonuses, warehouse facilities, shipping services... What else could you ask for?

So take it from me, Jech Ercheflo the Friendly Thin Guy, don't wind up lying in the gutters of Imperial City weaving baskets. Give the the First Bank of Provinia a call. You'll be glad you did.

Rumors

Another month, another delicious noble brain.

Half chains?

Can you have your rumor money sent to another faction's noble?

I feel like eating something pink...

The Libertor cometh!

Beware the blister twister!

Someone Asked: > Can you re-name regions?

Yup.

Someone Else Asked: > Ok - I have Beastmastery. Now what?

So now you start learning sub-skills. Youy should have received a list of them when you learned Beastmastery. Further skills may be found through research.

And Somone Else Asked: > can you train a worker to be a sailor or a soldier?

Nope, once a peasant has started down one branch of the training tree, he can only go further down that branch, and not switch to another.

Still Someone Else Asked: > Could somebody list the major alliances in Olympia > and the amount of factions pledged to them ?

Yes, someone could, if only there was someone who knew what they all are. You see, there's no central registry of alliances, and many alliances don't advertise who is a member. Maybe you should go around to everyone and ask them what alliances they are in. Start off by knocking on the door of Chateau Olympique.

And Someone *Else* Asked: > Well, do you get the extra NP when brain eating?

No, but you get the skills, which means you don't have to spend NP to get those skills that would otherwise require NP.

And Yet Another Someone Asked: > Is it true that the Arena world is Olympia and that clues > as to the nature of the Olympia game can be found in Arena > and vice versa? > > P.S Arena is a fun game too, look for Boris the Grey! > (the BtA of his world?)

I have no evidence that the worlds are connected, other than the fact that they both have capitals named "Imperial City"

And BtG seems like much too helpful of a guy to compare with BtA.

Still Another Someone Asked: > Can you build on an island? Can you do anything with them?

In the section of the rules titled "Buildings", it lists where various things can be built. Temples and towers can be build "anywhere", which means "a province, city, or other sublocation". An island seems like a sublocation. Inns mines and castles are more restricted.

And Finally (Boy, take a week off and you have a *ton* of stuff to do when you come back!), Someone Asked: > How about that map?

Map? What map? I posted a map here turn 83. Dig it up out of the archives. I'm not gonna post it every 8 turns.

Two daughters of a silk merchant live in Kyoto. The elder is twenty, the younger, eighteen. A solder may kill with his sword, But these girls slay men with their eyes!

> And under this rock we have.... > > The AOO!

Put...the rock...back.

Hej allesammen, er der kommet nogle danskere med i spillet????

The Swish and Pink are run by the Answer Guy!

So who *is* this Jeremy Maiden moron anyway and why does he keep pestering all us new players? Hey, get a life, loser!

Orange whip?

More mundane money for not so mundane purposes!

If you see something that looks like a star, And it's shooting up out of the ground, And your head is spinning from a love you taught, And you just can't escape from the sound, Don't worry too much, it'll happen to you, We were children once playing with toys. And the thing that your hearing Is only the sound of the low spark of high heeled boys.

Make it so?!

The chateau smells like cat urine inside.

" A brain walks into a bar, and says to the barman.. 'A pint of your best beer please landlord.' And the landlord replies.. ' I can't serve you, you'er out of your head'...............DA..DA...."

> Could somebody list the major alliances in Olympia > and the amount of factions pledged to them ?

The AOO. Still too many.

What's all this talk about Olympia g2? Is the world coming to an end? What will happen to me then?

Little Billy Speaks:

Question 1: can you train a worker to be a sailor or a soldier?

Yes, but you have to do it when they're peasants.

Question 2: Could somebody list the major alliances in Olympia and the amount of factions pledged to them ?

Would you like a count of the relative troop strengths as well?

Question 3: Well, do you get the extra NP when brain eating?

Try it, let us know how it comes out.

Question 4: How about that map?

What's it worth to you?

If anyone wants to retire, I'll be glad to watch their castle for them (hehe)

So, you refuse MY generous offer of eternal serfdom and half the proceeds from an inn in the Swamp of the Lost Souls. Ha! I shall hunt you down like the graceless hound you are!
