The kingdom of DRUCARTAN & Broen Rock

Visitors to DRUCARTAN and BROEN ROCK are asked to procure a visa before entering the area. Drucartan is a very peacefull continent, where AOO and non AOO factions live in peace and harmony. No noble has ever been attacked in Drucartan by another noble.

If you want a visa, please send a message to Karl Sen[y9n], describing the nobles in the party, the size of the party, and the reason for visiting. There is no fee, and requests will only be refused in rare ( i.e. I am bringing 20000 men (or dragons) to kill all nobles ) circumstances.

-- The Sen Clan [di4]

The Circle of Hope is seeking a vassal faction along the usual lines: you provide some noble-power & we'll provide the skills, money, & power to help you advance faster. We'll help each other & both profit from the venture. The Circle of Hope has a reputation for fairness & is not involved in any wars. Please send in responses ASAP.

-- Circle of Hope [lp3]

Visitors are welcome to the area controlled by the Cohorts of Colossus [vo4], as long as they obtain travel permits first. Not all requests will be granted. The affected area includes the land provinces bx25-bx27, by24-by27, and bz27.

To avoid possible misunderstandings, do not enter this area without a permit, nor collect resources without express permission. Violators of this policy may be subject to arrest.

I only rarely refuse reasonable requests, and then only because I've already granted my quota.

This policy helps ensure the security of all nobles within these lands. If you are interested in a franchise on collecting resources in one of these provinces, please contact me. I have friendly arrangements with several factions along these lines.

The Olympia Atlas is accepting contributions, and is available for download! Be the first to contribute information for unexplored lands (Faery).

In the tradition of Oleg's Map (tm), the Atlas is a compilation of geographical information useful for explorers, traders, and adventurers. Best of all, it's absolutely free!

To contribute to the Atlas, simply send turn excerpts (cut out all the incriminating parts) that contain the following information:

o) Mapping data (region & route info) o) City market reports o) City skills lists o) Inner locations

and send it to sx6@g1.pbm.com. We'll include it into the next version of the Atlas.

The Atlas is available by ftp from your nearest PBM ftp site (ftp.erg.sri.com in the USA, check the PBM FAQ for other sites), in the directory /pub/pbm/olympia, as atlas.X, where X is the turn of the last update.

The Atlas is also available on the PBMGames forum on CompuServe, in the fantasy games section, as atlas.oly.

Brought to you by the Skulking Vermin (sx6)

Note!! Due to Real-Life (tm) commitments, the Atlas will be appearing irregularly, as I have time to assemble contributions.

> Re: Query About Harsh Immigration Laws Imposed By Harsh Factions > > Harsh ???? You obviously haven't been the target of an aura blast recently. > Perhaps that can be corrected.

Oooh John darling, is that a promise? I love it when you talk aura...

> > I am seeking a visa for Drucartan from the Sen Clan. I realize > > this may be difficult for John Sen to grant, especially given that > > I am coming with 2000 troops/dragons to kill all his nobles. > > I am sorry to inform you that I need to know your name before I can grant > your visa. mpires are built on red tape you know.

Oh, so aura blast is the AOO version of a visa? I can't wait to see what you use for passports...ah yes, dead newbies.

> > But John, what I really need to know is, what happens if you deny > > me a visa, and I enter Drucartan illegally and kill all your > > nobles anyway? > > Feel free to give it a try. You obviously don't know what you are talking > about.

(sigh) you *really* didn't have to respond, I swear I didn't mean it... until now.

What IS it about about Marat's bootlickers? When did a sense of humour become a formal disqualification for AOO membership? Or is it simply surgically removed along with creativity as part of the lycanthropic ceremony converting you all to psychopathic gerbils?

> > Would you deport me? > I would sell your body to the highest bidder, so that your various body > parts can help others.

You really don't get it, do you...?!! (sotto voce...apart from which, all your nobles are dead by this time, remember? Think, boy! Brain into gear!)

- Ex-Worried Noble, Now Even More Worried Noble

Marat, Beware the ides of Snowmelt.

The time has come. Our fallen comrades will be avenged, and our oppressors will be crushed. Fiendish villain, prepare to die.

How does one gain control of captured nobles with oath loyalty?

Quoth the Sage, "Man who live in glass house, dress in basement"

> Now up for auction in the IC: one scroll of Weathermagic! The standing > price is 600 gold.

No one will buy it. Six hundred is too high. It costs less to buy a winged horse and visit Cloudland in person. It's pretty safe up there.

The Travelling Salesman, with lots of winged creatures ON SALE

"BOO to the AOO"

This space intentionally left blank.

> Does Lance seriously expect people to sell critters at those prices?

Try walking around in the wilderness, rats and wolves jump into your sack, and then you have to provide the fliers to carry them. They're just a nuisance to beastmasters, much better to sell a few hundred whenever you pass through IC.

Maybe you should get out more.

Who put the barriers in the Atnos Channel? Why? Please remove!

"As for breeding beasts, first you must consult the local regulations. By and large, if you are in or around lands under the control of the AOO, where men are men and women are men and sheep are nervous, then you may endulge yourself. The researchable skill for beastmasters is also another method."

The AOO is in turmoil, its leadership is falling apart. Treachery is widespread. Now is the time to take the advantage and the initiative, and remove the threat of the AOO.

Can you give the money from your rumor to a noble from another faction?

Will someone _please_ give the complete story of BtA vs MAFOC?

Simple Wisdom From A Simple Man

"I remember the first King, he sent his men around and garrisoned this province, to protect us from pillagers he said. He said that we should help by feeding his men, and my portion was a pig every month. Then there was this big battle, and when it was over, we were ruled by AOO, and their men took my pigs. After awhile, MAFOC came by, and said that they'd come to lead the revolt against AOO, and that we could help out. Then they took my pigs. Now we hear of this new rebellion, striking in stealth against AOO and melting into the wilderness." "Boys, let me tell you, I've seen kings and empires, rebels and bandits, heros and villians, and one thing's for certain. They all steal your pigs."

Peasant Memories, by Alfred Knockknee (forthcoming from Provinia Press)

A bunch of nobles gathered in a CIRCLE at the silver tea-inn:

"You think they're goodly folk?" one asked.

"Aye, if they're as good as their word they are. In such dark times," another said, "the LIGHT could use some GUARDing I'll warrant."

"But they're inexperienced they are," said a third, "very inexperienced."

"Yes, I think it be sadly true," the second mused. "They be putting a little too much stock into stealthiness if their press be a goodly reflection of their mind."

"Yes, & they're a little too verbal about their plans. Would be better if they were quieter 'bout it," barked a suspicious elf.

"True, true, it's all sadly true. Methinks they need an experienced hand & some goodly allies to help them along. Work together & all the boats rise as one. That's what the Dukes say."

"Aye, & it's proven a good plan so far hasn't it friends? Look at the big castle, the pennants flowing from the tall towers, the marching armies!"

"It's too bad they haven't contacted the CONFEDERACY about it. Perhaps they'll give the GENERAL a call?"

"We can only HOPE, my friend, we can only HOPE..."

Coming in next months Olympia times: "How to breed Wyrms for fun and profit".

What beasts is it possible to breed?

"Is all this stuff about crossbreeding really possible?"

Well, of course it is. What do you think Marat & BtA do on Saturday nights, besides go to a tavern and...uh oh, wait a minute! You said _cross-BREEDING_!!! Sorry!!!

Never mind.

Where is Unclaimed Territory?

The clan with no name has no honor. It's mindless slaves are fools who feed the leech.

The sherrif would have hard a hard time feeding those men at arms of his, if the garrisons who pulled in the money were killed off, now wouldn't he? What can we learn from this? Killing off garrisons hurts the big alliences in a number of ways. Firstly it shows that they are not imortal. Secondly it hurts them financialy. Thirdly it ruins their titles !!!! Fourthly it chews up their noble days. A garrison takes a minimum of 20 nobles days to create, plus travel time. Sure in order to get a reasonable chance of success you are going to have to put that much effort into attacking the garrisons, but we are many, and they are few. GotL: Hint #2: Attack isolated garrisons -The Guardians of the light.

Rumour has it that MAFOC is getting their butts kicked right now by the AOO. Lets hope that they manage to get organised and fight back or else all is lost. That is if MAFOC exists at all.... --- hopefull newbie

oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive but if we practice quite awhile how vastly we improve our style

e.e. cummings (from memory, may have errors)

Holy Hades my head hurts. Where am I ??? Wheres ?? and ??? Arrrrrgh!! Not I.C. Again. and alone again! I swear I must be the play thing of some malevolent diety. That just wont let me die just once and be done with it.

Is all villany against newbies finished? I have yet to see any reports of people to take action against. Even the AOO can't tell who writes rumors you know. Post away and let the guardians of the light do their work! Or maybe our threat is beginning to be taken seriously so the big alliences are toning it down a little? -The Guardians of the light
