Its fate has long been a mystery to the Federation, with no trace of either ship or crew ever discovered. Starfleet conducted memorials, the crew's loved ones grieved and for years, people wondered what had happened to such a prestigious ship of the line. Now, in the year 2389, the old mystery is finally solved as the Providence emerges a century out of its time...but the galaxy is very different to how they left it. These are the adventures of the Starship Providence, her crew transported through time over a century into their own future, struggling to cope because they can never go home. With the captain and the first officer dead upon arrival into the future, Second Officer and Helmsman Richard McGavin reluctantly assumes command.
