Description

First settled by the Founding Families in the late 1800s, and officially incorporated in 1914, the small town of Paraiso Costero is aptly named. With stunning ocean views, one of the most photographed beaches in the Western United States, and lovely weather year-round; and nestled on the coast of Southern California, just north of San Simeon, just over an hour's drive from San Luis Obispo, it is indeed a `coastal paradise.' The residents of Paraiso Costero have always taken pride in their home. With a population just over 5,000, it definitely has that small-town feel. You can expect friendly faces around every corner, annual celebrations (such as the Autumn Harvest and Spring Fair), a low crime rate, and plenty of sunshine here.

The Founding Families are still some of Paraiso's most prosperous residents, and in the past 20-30 years they've come together to promote expansion and growth of the town. Through their efforts, the population has seen an increase (however small it may be). The biggest change has been the growth of tourism in Paraiso Costero. It's become a favorite, `secret' vacation spot for many and that has had a very positive effect on the local economy. With change comes anxiety, though. Not all of Paraiso's long-time residents are comfortable with the new flood of tourists every year and the rise in `outsiders' moving to town to settle in permanently. And suspicions are beginning to run high regarding certain Founding Families members' intentions and motivations.

For the most part, though, Paraiso Costero is full of everyday folks just going about their lives in this place that they call home. Welcome to town!

This is a brand new group! Gameplay hasn't even begun yet, so this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. All members who join before April 15th will be allowed to have up to three characters for their first three months, rather than the usual two. This is in effort to get things started.

Character-wise, we need a little bit of everything at this point. We need women, we need men. We need singles, we need couples, we need widowers, we need divorcees, we need commitment-phobes. We need barely legals, we need twenty-somethings, thirty-somethings, forty-somethings, and more-than-forty-somethings. We need business owners, waitresses, reporters, doctors, lawyers, artists, police officers, firefighters, criminals, and teachers. We need party-goers, party-throwers, party-avoiders, and party-addicts. We need mischief makers and mess cleaners. We need heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexuals, and asexuals. We even have a couple of adoptable characters already!
