Description
HMS Apollo is a new PBEM (Play BY E-mail) RPG based on an 18th century sailing ship during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic War period in history. Think of the historic novels of Patrick O'Brian, the Horatio Hornblower books or the movie "Master and Commander: Far Side of the Word" TM and you have the basic premise behind the Apollo. HMS Apollo is an attempt to bring role playing and your writing flare to an 18th century Ship of the Line with you, the players, taking on the various roles of the crew. No in depth knowledge of naval history or the British Navy of the time is required just enthusiasm (though, if an officer, some homework may be required). |
