Description

Far Horizons is another play-by-email strategy game that Rick Morneau started designing several years ago, and that has undergone several revisions. In this game, each player plays the role of an intelligent species that can build starships, explore the galaxy, start new colonies, meet other species, go to war, and so on. Far Horizons is a rich and realistic simulation, and the rules are considerably longer and more complex than most similar games. A typical game can last anywhere from 6 months to a year. Far Horizons is not an open-ended game, so you may not start a new species at any time.

Rick is not currently running a Far Horizons game, and he have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future. However, if you would like to run your own game, a complete source code distribution (written in ANSI C and including the rules) is available at the link above.

Played the game? You can send me comments to be placed on this page by writing lindahl@pbm.com. But don't write me attempting to join the game -- write the GM, whose address is above.

Are you the GM? You can update your listing by writing lindahl@pbm.com. If you have something new to say about your game, for example an opening for new players, you can create an announcement for your game.

Don't see your favorite game? Then you can add an entry for it.
