DescriptionThe U.S.S. Lafayette is a Defiant-Class ship that was launched in the midst of the Dominion War when resources and personnel were at an all time low. Starfleet built the ship only to fight with only a handful of crew. At the end of the war the ship was mothballed. But in the early 2380s, the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, left with a large number of half-finished Defiant-Class ships built solely to fight, decided to expand its role by way of a total refit. The Lafayette was chosen to be the test ship. Now that her refit is complete, she carries a crew of sixty on a mission of exploration beyond the Federation frontier. All positions open.
