Description

FYI, the Discovery is a Galaxy Class vessel, set in 2366 (approx season 3 of TNG). This is pre-dominion war, pre-borg.

So! The long and the short of it is that I'm looking for dedicated players. Know that Trek is free form, but not ruleless - I (and the command staff) tend to set the stage with major plot points; you are free to play your character however you wish (within reason). Need to create some NPC crewmembers to help your department? Great! Be our guest!

You must be able to post no less than weekly... Ideally, you'll post more often that that. Knwledge of trek is a good idea, though you need not be a sick fanboy to play.

Please understand that this is a writing intensive game. Posts like "Engineer Steve acknowledges his orders and goes about maintenance duties." will not cut it. SHORT posts tend to be three paragraphs; typical posts can be much longer, depending on what is going on. Ideally, you'll be able to carry some of the story yourself; if no one is posting anything for your character to do, take some initiative and set your own scene!

Be prepared to create a rather extensive characetr background, including service history and such (see http://rdcconline.com/trek/roster.php?simid=1 for examples). I'll of course be glad to help you if you need it, but if its too much trouble to create a living character history, you probably would not enjoy the game itself.

Following is our list of openings. In most cases, I would prefer that you assume an exising role, but I *will* allow you to bring in a replacement character if you have a great concept.

Chief Engineer (need a new character) Chief Science Officer (would prefer someone take the role of Lt. Hemlos) Chief Operations Officer (either take Lieutenant Raines or bring in a new character, either way is fine) Chief Hemlsman (would prefer someone take the role of Lieutenant Zara) Ships Counselor (need a new character)

Also, if you don't feel you can run a department, you may always create a lower-ranking character (officer OR enlisted) invirtually any department.

So, what are you waiting for? Apply today!

Played the game? You can send me comments to be placed on this page by writing lindahl@pbm.com. But don't write me attempting to join the game -- write the GM, whose address is above.

Are you the GM? You can update your listing by writing lindahl@pbm.com. If you have something new to say about your game, for example an opening for new players, you can create an announcement for your game.

Don't see your favorite game? Then you can add an entry for it.
