Re: Two long-term problems

Don't look at alpha to try to predict how things will develop in g1.
There were two problems in alpha that led to the 100+ noble factions.
First, resurrections caused nobles to swear to the priest. This has
been fixed. Second, when players quit their nobles were left to
wander around Safe Haven to be captured and terrorized. This has
also been fixed.

I just don't see noble glut as a serious problem in g1. How long do
you think it will last? Ten years in the real world will be 520 Olympia
turns and 65 bonus NPs for a total of 80 for the original players.
So we have the equivalent of 40 oath-1 nobles in the year 2004? If
we're still playing at that point and not killing each other off in
droves I think we've earned them.

Now Atlantis, on the other hand, is a nightmare. I have 114 units and
2000+ men after 36 turns and I can barely force myself to make orders
for them all, let alone come up with a clever name and pithy saying.
Every week I pray for the speedy arrival of Lord Vox to put me out of
my misery.

Tim
