Description

Alamaze is available in four scenarios. Players may choose to play as an individual, as a team, or on an epic side. There are 15 players in a game.

Each position is unique yet balanced to others over fourteen criteria, such as military might, magical talent, economic muscle, diplomatic skill, and others. Important components of the game, such as towns, villages, and artifacts are randomly located in each new game to maintain freshness as well as to be equitable for players. Every position has won multiple times, which indicates good play-balance.

Opinions:

This is a complex game; the rule book alone is ~50 pages. There is considerable need for player interaction/team games are available. A very good game of its type. RSI does an excellent job at customer service. The games may be pricey for some tastes. - stdaughney@chemical.waterloo.edu (Steve Daughney)

[ note: RSI no longer runs games -- gl ]

Another truly excellent game, especially since Pegasus took steps to increase their efficiency and customer service. Strongly recommended! joey.browning@datadim.com (Joey Browning)

I have played in 3 Alamaze games and I love it. They have great customer service. They really get to know you and the game is great. You can do whatever you want to do. -- Mike Zink <WHSB06C@PRODIGY.COM> (1996Sep23)

I have played in NUMEROUS games of Alamaze, both with RSI (which no longer runs games) and Pegasus Productions (the creators)... Every game is uniquely different, and every kingdom is balanced relative to the others - I have done well with several different kingdoms. I suppose the best compliment I can pay is that I check my e-mail 6 or 8 times daily when turn results are due, and I never tire of the many possibilities available - in short, WELL worth the price. -- "Andrew C.
