Description

Tenderness of the Heart A Regency Era Forum - Established in 2017

Welcome to the 1814 Season!

Springtime in England means only one thing: the Season is about to begin! It is a time of frocks, frolics, and flirtation, all in pursuit of that most desirable prospect - an eligible match - that draws in the entire city of London by setting fans to fluttering, invitations flying, and tongues to wagging.

In the span of a scant few months, the world revolves around the Marriage Mart, where hearts are bound or broken, hands are bestowed or withheld, and reputations prove more ephemeral than the fireworks lighting the night skies over Vauxhall. Fine attire is not enough to ensure success in the Ton - it is who you know, where you are seen, and what you do that makes all the difference. Remember - Society sees all and the Whisperer spares no one in its scandal sheet.

Gossip is the Ton's favourite sport, after all.

On whom will this Season's darling debutantes set their sights? A rakish Duke, an elusive Marquess, or a charming, mysterious gentleman? Who will rise to new heights, or plummet to great depths? What lady will be toasted as a diamond of the first water? Will there be scandals revealed, secrets exposed, and reputations ruined? Will honour be questioned and challenges to duel issued? What hands will be joined and which hearts will be broken? Who will emerge the victors in the game of love, courtship, and marriage?

We invite you to join us in the social whirl that is the 1814 Season, where anything and everything is possible in love and war.

"There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart." - Jane Austen, Emma
