Description

Fate of the Known Worlds II is a Sci-fi Space Geo-Poltical Economical Play-By-Forum Wargame set in a alternate reality.

The game takes place at the dawn of the sixth millenium and the skies are darkening, for the suns themselves are fading. Humans reached the stars long ago, building a republic of high technology and universal emancipation - and then they fought over it, squandered it and finally lost it. A new dark age has descended upon humanity, for the greatest of civilisations has fallen and even the stars themselves are dying. Now a struggle rages between iron fisted feudal lords, fanatic priests, scheming guilds and others seeking to impose their will upon the known worlds.

In effect, the various governments were blasted back to barely the dawn of space-age during the fifth millenium when horrific battles swept the universe, and now we are rebuilding out empires and re-exploring the universe.

Besides dealing with each other and pirates, there is also a grave threat to the universe in the form of the Symbiotes, vile biological creatures (think Alien meets Zerg meets Cthulu) that threaten to sweep all other life before them.

Recently all the governments, the church and the Federal forces all had to band together to free Terra, site of the galactic senate (akin to Coruscant in Starwars lore), from a major Symbiote infestation.. and even after victory, are still running into problems from the event.

The Game is turn based - you submit a budget, orders for your heros, orders for your armies.. and then the moderate will process everything and let you know what happened either publicly or privately.
