Description

Please note: This is NOT a Superhero game. Rather it is a game where mortal humans will face off against mythological beasts, minions of gods, as possibly even the gods themselves.

For many centuries mankind had turned their backs on the gods of old. But in 2019 many returned with a vengeance. Athens was virtually destroyed as a great mountain arose in a volcanic pyre, growing until its peak was lost in a permanent cloud cover. In northern Europe trolls and giants arrived in Norway and marched on Oslo. And in Egypt a large pyramid appeared in the sky over Cairo and descended, landing on the buildings that housed the central government, crushing them instantly under its great mass.

Satellites in the sky suddenly stopped responding. Worldwide communications were wiped in on the blink of an eye. The beings who arrived at this time called themselves gods. At first they asked for nothing. Instead they sent out their wrath, designed to in remind humanity why the gods were once feared. Then they began to demand signs of devotion or risk their disfavor.

Norse, Greek, and Egyptian pantheons had arrived - along with a number of other fictional and even unknown gods. However there were gaps in their numbers as well. Athena was clearly missing. So was Thor. Those gods who had favored humanity in the past, often against the wishes of their pantheons, were absent.

The game will begin in the USA. Clearly players should be designed with the potential to challenge the gods themselves - literally. In a direct confrontation PC's will certainly lose. This is a game of intrigue and wit. Players must be prepared to seek ways to foil the gods with mortal abilities.
