DescriptionOstkrieg is a tactical PbeM RPG focusing on Wehrmacht soldiers during times of late WW2 (1944/45). Players are playing characters in charge of small units combined together into Kampfgruppe (battle group). You’ll find here tactics, combat, small-unit operations, as well as, interaction with NPCs on both sides and Wehrmacht soldier's life during these days. First and foremost – this is not a game promoting Nazism or Fascism in any form. There are no committing atrocities. If you are looking for something like that – it won’t be in this game. The game is going to be realistic to a point, where you might meet the third Reich darkest parts, just as a part of this RPG, but again to be clear – I am not promoting any such things, not even passively. Which means that your character might find fortunes against him if he pursues the 3rd Reich's wrong values too zealously. You should be able to post at least twice a week. The game starts in summer 1944 with Operation Bagration. Deep familiarity with the era is not needed, but interest in WW2 and basic knowledge of that time would be welcomed. I am going to provide all needed basic information. The game is semi-realistic. That means on a strategic and operational level you won’t make a difference in course of the war or theatre of operations. However, on the tactical level, where there are so little details, I will fill in the blanks myself and allow you, the players, a bit of freedom and reward your actions well. That includes promotions and medals as well as minor tactical victories on the battlefield, within reasonable means. In many ways the game is inspired by the Band of Brothers TV miniseries and some T2K based game I played. I am GM, which means players will play their character and I will play the rest. I am going to go with the rule – fortune favors good roleplaying, which means that good roleplaying by you will be rewarded with “luck”. And you will need it as this game will be realistic to a point that I expect some of your characters will die. You will be able to immediately play a new one of course, but be aware that your characters are vulnerable and this is not D&D. Be mindful as well that this game is with focus on tactical elements and command of small units also (hence tactical RPG).
