DescriptionFOR YEARS, THE CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN RIGHT TOLD AMERICANS THEY WERE THE ONES THAT BELIEVED IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.... THEY SAID THEY BELIEVED IN THE FREEDOM AND VALUES OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE PRINCIPLES OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS.... THEY TOLD AMERICANS THEY WERE THE PROTECTORS OF THAT FREEDOM, THOSE PRINCIPLES, AND THOSE VALUES..... THEY SAID THEY BELIEVED IN OUR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY.... THEY LIED.... In 2000, the United States of America is in terrible shape. Eight years of governance by two weak, corrupt, one-term presidents and a corrupt, scandal-ridden Republican-controlled Congress, another depression, called "The Second Great Depression" which has crippled the nation since 1989, a nationwide AIDS epidemic, famine, national unrest, extreme poverty, military defeats around the world including two which were the worst American military defeats in history. One was in Africa, where an American military operation in Zaire when South African forces using aircraft with tactical lasers wipe out an entire American military force and defeats at the hands of Japan in the Pacific which made the world doubt that America was still a superpower, terrorist attacks by a new terrorist organization called "Al-Qaida", a series of violent domestic terrorist attacks by a violent, home-grown terrorist organization called "The Legion", and secessionist movements in Texas, Vermont, New Hampshire, Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii which has caused those states to think about seceding from the USA and get fresh starts as independent nations have caused the nation to reach a crisis point. Evangelical Christians see this as a result of Americans turning their backs on Christianity and embracing "immorality" such as Hollywood and other so-called "immoral" influences and telling Americans they need to change their ways and re-embrace Christianity. In a nation in crisis and on the brink of collapse, and answering the call of Evangelical Christian preachers, Americans have turned to die-hard conservative politics and evangelical Christianity, which has caused the United States to suffer a secular decline. For years, a nationwide religious revival led by a famous evangelical Christian television evangelist and his powerful Church has been underway and has reached every segment of the population. Church establishments exist all over the United States and each and every one holds religious rallies. American youth hold youth revivals. In 1992, the minister decides to jump into politics and forms an evangelical Christian political party, the True America Party. Over the next four years, the True America Party slowly gains support and erodes away at the Democratic and Republican power base. By 1996, the Democrats and Republicans are weak and on the brink of collapse. The True America Party becomes the most powerful political party in the nation. The minister declares his candidacy for President of the United States and mounts a presidential campaign. In November 2000, he wins by a landslide. Evangelical Christian candidates from the TAP take Congress and become governors of all fifty states. In 2005, the minister is sworn into office. He seems like a benevolent, compassionate, and concerned president but that's a lie! In reality, the new president is a religious tyrant who secretly makes changes. The first change he makes is tearing the Constitution asunder! The United States of America ceases to exist as we know it and becomes a theocracy as repressive and backwards-thinking as any from the Middle Ages. The new regime is called "The Church". The new President becomes a religious dictator known as "The Prophet Incarnate" and brutally suppresses secularism, other faiths, "immorality", atheism, opponents of his regime, etc. in a modern-day Inquisition called "The Question". He transforms the US Armed Forces. He transforms the US Army into a theocratic Wehrmacht called the Army of the Church, the US Navy into a theocratic terror on the high seas called the Church Navy, and the US Air Force into the Church Air Force. An elite security force that protects the Prophet Incarnate called "The Angels of the Lord" is established, an SS-like internal police force called "The Templars" is set up and a Gestapo-like Secret Police force called "The Levites" is founded. Both are brutal, repressive, and deadly forces. "The Holy Virgins", a group of deaconesses who serve "The Prophet" comes into existence. All of the above are equipped with high-tech, never-before-seen weapons and equipment. The Church imposes its will through ruling with an iron fist. Any criticism of the Prophet or his government, noncompliance with Church law, flying the flag of the old United States, practicing a religion other than the Church, engaging in anything "immoral", etc. is punishable with removal to a maximum-security prison, "reeducation camp", brainwashing, imprisonment, slave labor, or death. "The Prophet" unites the nation and most Americans support the Church. But not everybody supports the Church. During the 2004 campaign, small groups of Americans are suspicious of the minister and the Church started investigating him and his reasons for running for President. After the minister establishes his theocratic regime, these groups come together to form an underground resistance organization known as the Resistance. The Resistance is a motley force of civilians from all walks of life and renegade Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force units. But the Resistance's war against the theocracy won't be easy. Most Americans support the theocracy, the armed forces of the Church are well trained and armed and their high-tech weapons and equipment are deadly, and informants lurk around every corner! But there's one thing the minister doesn't know. There are those within the ranks of the Church who don't believe in what "The Prophet" is doing. They are a group of people who are opposed to the Church, and they will aid the Resistance. On the international front, the rest of the world is alarmed by what has happened in the United States and other nations have begun their own covert operations to depose the American theocracy. The Resistance is aided by allies who fight alongside them against the Church. They include the Circle of Athena, a religious cult, the Church of the Ages, a doomsday cult, the Soldiers of Elvis, a paramilitary group whose members are made up of armed, vigilante Elvis impersonators, the Church of the Exaltation, a Fundamentalist Christian group who sides with the Resistance, the Alo crime family, a Mafia crime family, the Green Mountain Boys, a group of Vermont guerrillas who are the modern-day incarnation of the Revolutionary War-era GMB, the Alamo Boys, the former military arm of a Texas secessionist group, the Texas Rangers, the modern incarnation of the nineteenth-century Texas Rangers, the Lone Star Brigade, a military unit composed of renegade members of the Texas National Guard, the Tejano Alliance, a military unit from Texas composed of Tejanos, the New Hampshire Liberation, a force of resistance fighters from New Hampshire, the Montana Liberation, a force of resistance fighters from Montana, the Alaska Frontier Guard, a force of Alaskan guerrillas, the Hawaii Rainbow Guard, a force of Hawaiian resistance fighters, the Vampire Pigs, a vicious motorcycle gang, the Lobos, a Los Angeles street gang, the Angels, a renegade US Air Force group, the Mormon Battalion, a group of Mormon resistance fighters, the Nauvoo Legion, the Mormon militia that is reformed, and the reformed Choctaw Code Talkers, who provide the Resistance with valuable help as well as fight with them. The Resistance is determined to prevail. It isn't long before America erupts into war! Join the fight. You can be a character in the Resistance or the Church, a Fifth Columnist, or a civilian. "By Dawn's Early Light" is based on "Revolt In 2100" by Robert Heinlein. The storyline will cover every aspect of the war from life under the Prophet Incarnate's rule to the battles.
