Description

By 2037 Earth had finally begun its first steps to settling the other planets of our solar system. But back at home problems still plagued the planet. Terrorism, greenhouse effects, overpopulation, disease all threatened our race with extinction. Our world was headed for self-annihilation. Then the Iron Wind arrived - an empire consisting of three alien races which resembled demons: the Derahn, Mogradoth and Mak Taurog. With their arrival began a new era. They demanded peace, but did not do so as pacifists.

A single Derahn woman issued the demands of the Iron Wind, though her words were translated into the native languages of every nation on Earth by Derahn biotranslators and broadcasted live. Her voice was melodic and vibrant.

"Greetings. I am Lady Ishtara of the Derahn. I represent the three races of the empire you will come to know as the Iron Wind. I am Derahn. The other two races are the Mogradoth and the Mak Taurog. The time for change has come to your world. Earth is now under the dominion of the Iron Wind as a protectorate. We have observed your race for some time. You have brought your race and this planet to the brink of annihilation. This ends.

"War, overpopulation, pollution, ecologic destruction, starvation, and disease are all problems that will be dealt with. Many of you will not like our solutions. But your race has had thousands of years to develop your own solutions. Instead you have destroyed whole species, your environment, each other. You fight petty wars over what? Beliefs, land? We have the technology to end such concerns. Here in the cradle of your civilization you will learn to respect your differences and accept them."

"Advisors will be sent to every major population center on Earth. Observers will likewise be sent to observe your efforts to enforce these policies. If the results prove ineffective we will take a more active role."

And thus began the new age of peace on Earth. The year is now 2038. Iron Wind occupation has been in effect for a year.

Characters should be submitted with a well written background. Their social life should be well conceived. Technology will not have changed a great deal. Extrapolate based on what we are researching now. For example, NASA hopes to put men on Mars by 2031. 100% emission free cars are just beginning to enter production. The transportation systems will eventually need an overhaul. Deforestation continues right along with global warming. We are only talking about 29 years from now. Anyone born today would be in their late 20's and would have grown up as a teen in the 2020's.

I expect decent spelling and grammar (or colloquial speech). Posts should be written in 3rd person, past tense. One liner posts will NOT be acceptable. The game is to be rated PG-13 to R (mainly for the graphic nature of some scenes). While cursing will be allowed, I am not looking for players to use this is an excuse to curse every other word. Tasteful graphic speech please. If you aren't sure ... ask first.

This is an adventure, not just an opera. No Lurkers. Non posting will be dealt with by being removed from the game. (If you know you are going to be away, just let folks know so the plot doesn't stall. I understand work must come first, etc.) Run your own characters, not NPC's or other players. No one liner posting.

Ideally there should be a mix of stereotypes - original characters. Please note the era. I want 4-5 active players.
