Description

It is the present day. Unknown to mankind, insectoid extraterrestrials have infiltrated the governments of every nation on Earth. They have disguised themselves as humans and their purpose is sinister. The insectoids hope to keep their plans secret, but when the President of the United States reveals the aliens' presence to the world, the world is thrown into a panic. Suddenly no one can be trusted, and the aliens begin a covert war of extermination against humanity.

Humanity is in danger of extinction, but there is hope. In a scientific research laboratory in Los Angeles, California, scientists have discovered a new strain of DNA with exterrestrial origins. Dubbed "The Love's Light Strain", this strain allows whoever possesses it to have healing abilities. The scientists wonder if The Love's Light Strain could also be the key to immortality. They want to test it, but they don't have a willing subject.

A retired, washed-out actress, who was famous in the 1970s and 1980s but left Hollywood for the frozen mountains of Alaska and has been living there as a grouchy recluse ever since, suddenly becomes the guardian of her niece after her parents are killed in a plane crash. The actress doesn't want her niece around at first, but she changes her mind when she realizes just how much she loves her niece and they form a bond. That bond becomes even stronger when the actresses' niece is hit with a deadly illness. Hearing about the scientists' discovery in California, the actress goes to California and volunteers to be injected with "The Love's Light Strain" in order to heal her niece.

The actress is tested and discovers the answer to a question she's had throughout her middle-aged years: why her great beauty from her youth has remained and why she has aged VERY gracefully, showing only signs of maturity and no gray hair, wrinkled, or anything else. The reason: she has a unique body chemistry that was created by a strange genetic makeup in her body.

When the actress is injected with the Love's Light Strain in a delicate experiment, the experiment goes horribly wrong and the actress receives an accidental overdose of the Strain. In a process similar to the metamorphosis of Dr. Seth Brundel in the movie "The Fly", the actress is transformed from a middle-aged woman into a youthful-looking, beautiful, vivacious woman who appears to be in her early twenties and has the smooth, graceful body of a supermodel. It was the way the actress looked when she was a young woman. The actress' reddish-brown hair grows very long, and her voice becomes a low, feminine voice.

The actress gains extraordinary powers and abilities. She gains superhuman strength, superhuman speed, extraordinary vision, extraordinary hearing, incredible athletic abilities, levitation, flight, invisibility, passage through walls and other solid objects, telepathic abilities including the ability to communicate with animals, the ability to heal, an animorphing ability which is the ability to transform into any animal, both real and mythical, gendar-morphing, the ability to turn herself into a man, the ability to shoot freeze beams from both her eyes and hands, the ability to perform Bewitched-style magic shape-shifting, and the ability to sing at any range.

In addition to the above-mentioned abilities, the actress becomes immortal and is impervious to anything. The actress doesn't want to be this way at first and the scientists try to find a cure, but the process is irreversible. The actress changes her mind, though, and heals her niece. She then decides to use her powers to fight evil and help others. But in order to do that, she'll have to do the same thing Spider-Man did: become a superhero.

The actress learns how to use her powers, train in martial-arts and other forms of combat, and makes herself a costume consisting of a white-necked evening gown decorated with blue stars and white, white earrings, white gloves, and white, high-heeled boots. The actress calls herself "Supernatural", and adds detective work to her repertoire. She becomes a superheroine-detective. She hears about the insectoid extraterrestrials and vows to fight them.

The actress decides to remain in Los Angeles and returns to Hollywood as an actress, and signs on to play "Nancy Drew" in a new "Nancy Drew" TV series. She also becomes a pop singer. Both allow her to be in a position to respond to trouble from the insectoid aliens. Supernatural has allies that fight with her. Like her, they are reluctant superheroes who got their powers through various accidents, scientific experiments gone wrong, unwanted magic, etc. They make up a team that Supernatural leads called "Dynasty Force". Another ally is the Red Defender, an actor who once worked with Supernatural who gained superhuman powers after being exposed to a strange device located underwater off the coast of a Canadian seaport but he doesn't know how to use them.

Join Supernatural and her allies as they fight the alien invaders.
