Description

MHGC is your typical expand / grow / kill everyone else space conquest game. The name is derived from an old game I wrote and ran at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI or the 'tute) and HyperEconomic Diplomacy (a.k.a. GeoDiplomacy or Geodip). The game is at best vaguely related to either of these preceding games, so don't base any strategies on the name selection.

In the game, players attempt to balance expansion, capital investment, technology investment, and military conquest in order to be crowned "Grand Poohba of the Universe."

MHGC was originally written to play by Email. Now it runs over the web and has a java based front end, but you can still play the pure ascii version via a web interface (and some people prefer this, go figure).

Turns typically run twice a week (three times a week for the first 12). They will take 45 minutes if you want to do well; they can take a lot longer if you want to win.

A demo game (against bots), intro video, and other stuff are available on the web site.

Played the game? You can send me comments to be placed on this page by writing lindahl@pbm.com. But don't write me attempting to join the game -- write the GM, whose address is above.

Are you the GM? You can update your listing by writing lindahl@pbm.com. If you have something new to say about your game, for example an opening for new players, you can create an announcement for your game.

Don't see your favorite game? Then you can add an entry for it.
