Description

The year is 2384. The Dominion war is fading into memory, and the Federation is working to rebuild its peaceful mission of exploration and discovery. However, the Romulan Star Empire is threatening to break into civil war. Task Force 47 has the unenviable task of keeping the Romulan situation from erupting, while maintaining balance in the sector. As a heavy cruiser, the Talleyrand is uniquely prepared for this role.

Our namesake, Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand, was an accomplished French statesman of the eighteenth century. He overcame adversity, and rose to be an influential figure in French politics at the time. He was involved in drafting the "Declaration of the Rights of Man" and was very much occupied with the international agreements of his day.

Our motto is a famous quote from Talleyrand, "Black as the devil, Hot as hell, Pure as an angel, Sweet as love." It sums up the Talleyrand perfectly. Our primary mission is one of peace and exploration. As such, we strive to be "pure as an angel". We work, however, in a dangerous sector of the galaxy, and we are prepared to defend ourselves. If push comes to shove, we have an impressive array of firepower at our disposal, and can make things "hot as hell" if need be.

The USS Talleyrand is a play-by-bulletin-board Star Trek roleplay simulation group. We are currently accepting applications for new crew members. All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to submit an application.
