The year is 2385. Starfleet is still recovering from the Dominion War. The ominous threat of a new enemy in this time of rebuilding is shaking the core of the Federation both from within and without who demand change. The Federation is a house divided between those who vie for the era of exploration and those who believe conflict to be inevitable. Only those 'out there', defending our way of life, hold the balance.
Captains like Jean-Luc Picard of the Enterprise, William Riker of the Titan, Elaithin Jii of the Miranda, and Daren Runako M'Kantu of the Galaxy, all have a duty to defend the Federation, and will continue to do their duty - or die trying.
The USS Galaxy is one of the longest-running PBeM Trek sims out there, and has been operating nearly continuously since 1996. Since then we've had our ups and downs, but our pool of talented and dedicated writers has proven time and time again that there are always new stories to be told, new adventures to be had, and new places to boldly go.
This sim takes place in the post-Nemesis Trek universe; the current sim year is 2385. We stick to established Trek canon whenever possible, but we also borrow heavily from the many Star Trek novels, games, and other sources that are not considered 'true canon'. In addition to these sources, we are constantly creating our own canon, developing information where canon is lacking, and adding new complexities to our ever-evolving universe.
This is not a sim where writers sit back and wait to be pushed along by a GM. It is not a place where writers can post once a month or less and expect to not be left behind. It is not a place where the pace of the story moves along at a snail's pace, leaving writers free to check their email every couple of weeks only to find that the storyline has barely advanced.
The USS Galaxy is a large, active group that produces an average of 40,000 words PER WEEK. That's the equivalent of a good sized novel every two weeks. And in addition to the main mission storylines, are writers are heavily involved in multiple side plots and secondary storylines, some of which may last for years if the writers choose to keep them running that long. This is a fast-paced, complex world our characters live in.
We are an established sim with nearly 50 writers, but we are always looking for new talent to join the group! If you think you have the talent, and the motivation...and the free time...submit an application today!
