Description

In 2000, the United States of America is in terrible shape. Twelve years of liberal Democratic Party governance, with two presidential administrations led by corrupt, inept presidents marred by scandal and dishonor and the most corrupt Congress in American history, another depression, called "The Second Great Depression" which has crippled the nation, a nationwide SARS epidemic, famine, national unrest, extreme poverty, and a nation long influenced by what evangelical Christians regard as "immorality" such as Hollywood and other so-called "immoral" influences, have caused Americans to turn to die-hard conservative politics and evangelical Christianity, which has caused the United States to suffer a secular decline.

For years, a nationwide religious revival led by a famous evangelical Christian minister and his powerful church has been underway and has reached every segment of the population. Church establishments exist all over the United States and each and every one holds religious rallies. American youth hold youth revivals. In 1992, the minister decides to jump into politics and forms an evangelical Christian political party.

Over the next twelve years, the new Christian political party slowly gains support and erodes away at the Democratic and Republican power base. By 2000, the Democrats and Republicans are weak and on the brink of collapse. The new Christian political party becomes the most powerful political party in the nation. The minister declares his candidacy for President of the United States and mounts a presidential campaign. In November 2000, he wins by a landslide. Evangelical Christian candidates take Congress and become governors of all fifty states.

In 2005, the minister is sworn into office and immediately starts to secretly make changes. He abolishes the Constitution and the Federal Government and establishes a theocratic dictatorship. The United States of America ceases to exist and a new theocratic America comes into existence. The world is alarmed as the only global superpower becomes a theocratic tyrant.

But the majority of Americans do not see the theocracy as tyranny. They overwhelmingly support the new theocracy as the new President becomes a religious dictator and brutally suppresses secularism, lays down religious law, and bans other faiths. But not everybody supports the theocracy. During the 2000 campaign, small groups of Americans are suspicious of the minister and his church started investigating him and his reasons for running for President.

After the minister establishes his theocratic regime, these groups come together to form an underground resistance organization known as the Resistance. The Resistance is led by a young Irish-American woman and is a motley force of civilians from all walks of life and renegade Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force units. But the Resistance's war against the theocracy won't be easy. Most Americans support the theocracy, the armed forces and secret police forces of the theocracy are well trained and armed, and informants lurk around every corner! But there's one thing the minister doesn't know. There are those within the ranks of his regime who don't believe in what the reverend is doing. They are a group of people who are opposed to the Theocracy, and they will aid the Resistance.

But the Resistance is determined to prevail. It isn't long before America erupts into war! Join the fight. You can be a character in the Resistance or the theocracy, or a civilian. "America: The Final Conflict" is based on "Revolt In 2100" by Robert Heinlein.

You can play as a character in the Resistance, the Theocracy, the new Evangelical Christian political party, or the covert opposition to the Theocracy.. The names of all organizations are up to the players.
