Description

Colony 2135 is a colonization mission set in the early 22nd century as mankind has begun its expansion to the stars. Colonists must meet physical and mental criteria suitable for settling on a new world. Any exceptions to the rules must have very strong justification. (The new world will offer plenty of hazards.) The mothership is the size of a battlestar, though not built for war. It carries over 1000 families, numerous single colonists, livestock bred for adaptation to a new world, gear for building a colony. PC’s should typically be around 28 – 32. That’s enough for a four year degree, plus eight years in a field – or 8 years study and 4 years in the field – or something similar. Command personnel will be veteran NPC’s with 12 to 20 years in the field. However, they won’t be the ones out adventuring.

The colony will find itself facing hostile alien forces. It will soon boil down to a struggle for survival against a superior alien technology. The aliens will be familiar to some from fantasy settings, but be purely science fiction in nature. Any ‘magical’ abilities will be psionic based.

Characters must be developed with strong backgrounds, describing personality, education, career, and physical descriptions. A profile describing the character for other players to read will need to be uploaded to the Yahoo group site. It should include any information the players should know. It can be assumed that players could have met prior to the mission.

NO bionics / cyborgs please. Implants are limited to communications and data access types. Most people rely on neural induction – with requires no implant. For those familiar with GURPS technology charts, the TL for humans will be set at TL 9-10, with variations. Earth will have made strides in some areas while not in others. Psionics and anti-psi are available. Please no Lensmen. Moderate abilities. These can improve in the game. Latent psionics are also possible.

Please no lone wolves. I want PC’s that can work well with others. I want players to work together.

Players should be able to post 5 to 7 times a week, with average lengths of posts not less than a few good paragraphs. The game is rated Mature (strong R), with military violence, alien horror, adult language and situations. No children please.
