Description

In 2010 the Earth came under a cross dimensional attack. The first sign of the attack was the arrival of three new moons that appeared in various orbits about the planet, and the radical alteration of our native moon. The moons were distinctively colored: Red, Gold, and Blue. Luna’s color changed into an emerald green. The arrival of the moons triggered massive earthquakes, volcanic activity, tidal waves, and weather phenomena. Satellites in orbit went dead, rendering GPS systems inoperative as well as the infrastructures that depended on them. Stock markets began to crash. Thousands of lives were lost as airplanes failed to reach their destinations safely. Some crashed during landing. Others ran out of fuel. Others … reported being under attack.

Earth has come under attack by the Iron Wind – the very forces of Hell. It is Science vs. Sorcery. This is a game of survival, exploration, and discovery. There WILL be GM-guided adventures, the players being the heroes of the story. This is a Modern fantasy game. Players will be natives of Earth. I caution against creating a character designed to be a victim. I’ll likely just say no. Even a gung ho soldier will be utterly helpless against a balrog unless he learns how to fight one. On the other hand, an AR15 against those Uruk Hai will do rather well. Players will have an understanding of technology, but be ill-equipped to deal with magic. The reverse is true of the invaders.

Design the characters with Hollywood flair. Normal is fine, but with the will to fight for your survival. PC’s should be natural survivors at heart, if not leaders. But even scientists and engineers can defend themselves. I want a good idea of what a character can do in a written format. PC’s should be modestly well developed, with names, appearance, demeanors, backgrounds, and gear. Cars and such will still operate. However, the power grids were overloaded. People are trying to get the infrastructure back online. But to start out players will be in an information blackout with only rumors to go on.

The game will begin in the western US, but far from the coastal regions (ie not Los Angeles or Seattle.

Players should be able to post 5 to 7 times a week, with average lengths of posts not less than a few good paragraphs. The game is rated Mature (strong R), with military violence, alien horror, adult language and situations. No children please.
