Description

During the Exodus, mankind had spread through the galaxy like a plague. Well, some humans considered expansion a matter of survival. Other called it the New Manifest Destiny. For others it was merely the drive to explore. And for others it was to spread some divine belief. Take your pick. Most established religions in those days turned a blind eye toward atrocities committed in the name of their choice of divine being.

Mankind made a lot of enemies. And some of those enemies were themselves. It was a self-perpetuating cycle of hate, violence, and arrogance. But that has been the history of Mankind since biblical days. Humans became feared and hated as the most dangerous species in the galaxy. Many races sought to purge the galaxy of the race of Man before it could spread. Other races sought to force their own brand of religion of Man.

To survive in the distant corners of the galaxy mankind began to play with the human genome. God had not done a good enough job in the minds of the military. So we began to breed super soldiers. Bioengineering became a necessity. Earth became a military state armed with the best soldiers we could breed.

But not all humans had forgotten the Light that was Rome concept. A few understood that the cycle would have to end somewhere or Man would become extinct – or responsible for the genocide of a thousand races. These few humans began to collect in secret. They had to for their ideals would never have been popular. They sought an end to war. In the end though, they simply became another enemy of mankind. But hunting them took a very long time.

Mankind thought it had crushed this deviant order out of existence. But that was not so. The truth would not be known for many centuries. By the time any members of this order would be seen again, they would be long forgotten. True to the fears of that small group mankind would find itself on the brink of extinction, the remnants of a once great race scattered across galaxies.

A small group of this order survived a cataclysmic end in suspended animation. Their lifeboat would be discovered adrift in space by a small group of scavengers intent on salvage…

Characters should be submitted as normal humans, with appearance, career interests, hobbies, demeanors, motivations, and backgrounds. A Character Generation Template will be provided as a guide for statistics and skills. These are only used to give a picture of what the character can reasonably do. GURPS 3e will work if you want a skill list. There isn’t going to be any dice rolling though. This will be a GM moderated adventure.

Players should be able to post 3 to 5 times a week, with average lengths of posts not less than a few good paragraphs. The game is rated Mature (strong R), with military violence, alien horror, adult language and situations. No children please.
