Description

We are looking for a few more sailors to participate in an ongoing PBeM campaign involving Allied and Axis WWII naval forces that have been conducting a series of skirmishes for control of an obscure group of islands in the far northern latitudes belonging to a neutral country named Markland. Scenarioes/skirmishes are generally at night where targets at point blank range tend to disappear quickly. We are in the middle of the third scenario in this campaign and intend to be into the fourth scenario before Christmas. Game layout is that the senior officer on each side establishes what ships will be used, the mission, and the plots of the ships to their initial contact points and then for the officers in each side's officer pool to command individual groups of ships (on a first-come-first-served basis). Gunfire and moves are plotted on word/powerpoint maps or otherwise described in e-mails, after which gunfire is resolved by the gods using Seapower III. The firing officer only needs to select a target and a number from 1 to 6 to get the results of gunfire. The over-all map of the islands looks remarkably like the Orkneys. Commands are now available for players on the Axis side in the ongoing third scenario, but they are limited to either Uboats or MTB's that will be going after an allied convoy. The entire range of Axis ships will be available in the fourth scenario when it starts up.
