Description

This is a yahoo groups / discussion group for forming a new WWI PBEM game based off the OPENWAR system originated by Jens Niemann (1999-2002) and perfected by Dave Clay (2004-2006). The game combines detailed military hex based strategy, with national budgets and diplomacy.

We would like to bring about a new, fourth game, using the OpenWar system. This would be a pay to play game, aprox 1 turn a month. The game takes place during the first world war and gamers control the United States, Lindley M. Garrison, Germany, Field Marshall von Moltke, Great Britain, Lord Kitchener, France, Field Marshall Joffre, Russia, Grand Duke Nicholas, Austro-Hungary, Arch Duke Freiedrick, Ottoman Empire, Enver Pasha, Italy, Field Marshall Cadorna, China, Chang Hsun, Japan, Terauchi Masatake.

The website for the original WWII PBEM run by Jens can still be viewed at http://wwii.sepic.org/ The second game run by Dave can be viewed by using the www.waybackmachine.org/ to look at www.wargaming.org.uk In early 2006 Dave ran a short lived third game that was based off of the first world war.

Played the game? You can send me comments to be placed on this page by writing lindahl@pbm.com. But don't write me attempting to join the game -- write the GM, whose address is above.

Are you the GM? You can update your listing by writing lindahl@pbm.com. If you have something new to say about your game, for example an opening for new players, you can create an announcement for your game.

Don't see your favorite game? Then you can add an entry for it.
