Description

The WRL, or World Rugby League, is a rugby league simulation game I've been working on for a while and it is now ready to open. It's completely different to every other RLM on the web as results are generated by an Excel based RL simulator called Quick Play Rugby League or QPRL.

The basics are the same:

- Players take on the role of a rugby league coach and must select a team each week and choose their tactics - You can get involved with negotiating contracts and transfers as well as developing young talent - You can interact with the media and post rumours, match previews and player interviews etc.

However the game doesn't rely on lengthy tactics or endless media postings to determine the outcome of matches. Each player has an attack and defence rating that contribute to a team rating. The simulator takes this team rating, your chosen tactics and standard of your media postings into account when generating the result.

The game doesn't feature real life teams - it's one of your jobs to create your own RL franchise from any where in the world. We have two on board at the moment and I'm hopeful of getting at least ten on board soon so we can start our first season. You are also responsible for managing finances, choosing a stadium and setting up your reserve grade or academy team.

The player database features all SL and NRL players (over 730 in total) and there is room for expansion in future should you wish to bring in promising juniors or rugby union converts . At the end of each season a players ratings are reviewed in line with his real life performances so you can use your RL knowledge to stay one ahead of your rivals.

Played the game? You can send me comments to be placed on this page by writing lindahl@pbm.com. But don't write me attempting to join the game -- write the GM, whose address is above.

Are you the GM? You can update your listing by writing lindahl@pbm.com. If you have something new to say about your game, for example an opening for new players, you can create an announcement for your game.

Don't see your favorite game? Then you can add an entry for it.
