DescriptionSpartan-fleet simulations, a collection of varied themes and genre in which writers are encouraged to stretch themelves, to have fun and to work together. Our sims approach this from a completely new direction in which the writers look at the framework of the established writing and take it from there. They drive the stories, not just the current plot leader. They take of on tangents as yet not dreamed of by the plot-leader. They take turns being the plot-leader. Sometimes, there's more than one plot-leader at a time. awakening.spartan-fleet.com (22 writers) Currently we have a Marvel Universe sim called Xmen: Awakening. Originally set in a Ultimates-esque Marvel Universe setting we have diverged a bit. And in the current plotline the writers will have the responsibility of recreating the reality to suit them- or so they hope. Otherwise, they may get stuck in a really, really, bad place. And then there are the Glooming. Nobody knows what causes it, nobody knows who will be next, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it to happen but suddenly, people are changed into horrible monstrosities. Mutant, normal, psychic, mage- nobody is safe from it happening and nobody know what they are, what they mean or why they're there. Not even them. spartan.spartan-fleet.com (8 writers) USS Spartan is our Trek-themed sim. It is 2407, twenty-two years after the end of a terrible war with an implacable enemy the likes of which had never been seen in space. The setting is very much like Post-WW1 Europe with the rebuilding and the lack of supplies and luxuries, though near the end of that as prosperity and commerce are once again beginning to take hold. USS Spartan has a rich timeline and history in which the Alliance of the major superpowers has endured and begun a lasting friendship, Romulan/Rihannsu, thlIngan, Federation, Kolari/Orion and several other new species and civilizations have banded together in what remains of their original territories. Spartan, having been put away in mothball fleet for the last twenty years is even now being refurbished for a secret initiative. To reach out to the beleagured and lost colonies and worlds on the other side of the Front. To boldly go, to make contact, help and support and if necessary to dig in and hold until help can arrive. But things are not as easy as they may seem, for the Outreach Initiative is oppossed by a terrorist movement within the Alliance, unsatisfied that the majority chose to help instead of stay at home and continue to rebuild and work toward a more secure territory. Facilities and resources have been destroyed, valued personnel have been lost and ships, precious starships, have been destroyed. Add to that Spartan, a self-willed semi-organic cybernetic vessel developed to fight the enemy towards the end of the war is a reluctant participant and has been the victim of sabotage as well. SWCS.spartan-fleet.com (6 writers) SWCS, or Star Wars Continuing Saga is a Star Wars sim set 6BBY, between the Jedi Purge and the Star Wars movie while Luke and Liea are still teenagers and the Empire is in firm control. One ship, the Devil's Luck, crewed by people just trying to make a credit and survive, run by a Devaronean captain who has a fondness for self-willed droids. An old Consular-class ship they run personnel and freight from one side of the Empire to the other for a price and are not above a bit of skullduggery if the price is good. Force Adepts, Scoundrels, Soldiers, Fringers all, we use a D20 Star Wars system as a reference point for writing so we can judge how effective our characters are. There are no starting Jedi in this sim as nobody has yet found one to train them. Sith can be developed as characters but only through play, as well. This is a sim, not an online RPG. |
