DescriptionJoin the Australian praliament. Sign up as a member of the House of Representatives, join a party or remain an independent, get on the floor and argue your case. You can either aim to climb to Prime Minister, or simply take part in the debates for their own sake. How you approach thhe game is open ended, either to win the game or to broaden your political exposure to other ideas and views. Wide ranging topics are brought up, both refelcting the current events in Australia and ideas brought forth by members of TP. It gets heated, but usually remains civil. The parties, unlike other political games, are not reflective of real life but more reflective of the members involved. Five main parties exist; Centre Unity (CU), and the Progresive Democrats (PDP), currently form a coalition government. In Opposition are The Conservatives (TCP). Social Democratic Greens (SDGP)held government prior to the last election, and are now the fourth party. Recntly acheiving party status, the Liberal Conservative Party (LCP) are the fifth to acheive party status. Such a wide range of parties ensures that debate is relevant to the result of divisions on the floor of the House and that most members can find a party that suits their beliefs. It also means that independents can have a real say, for those who do not wish to join a party or can't find one they fit with. |
