STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE "In Harm's Way" Player-Turn 15 Template

Based on the Award Winning Star Trek Deep Space Nine Roleplaying Game published by Last Unicorn Games, 1999. Additional material taken from Star Trek Roleplaying Game by Decipher Inc. published 2002. Star Trek © and Deep Space Nine ® are trademark items of Paramount Pictures and used here only in the context of non-commercial private use online role-playing.

The following format is to be used by player characters for the pbem Star Trek campaign "In Harm's Way."

TURN SITREP:

The plot has taken an unexpected turn in Turn 14. The USS Unification is now facing a huge moon-sized artifact in unclaimed space…that is in the Alpha Quadrant. The Galaxy-class starship was transported from the Gamma Quadrant by the reality warping "Don Q." Don Q is apparently one of the Q Continuum. Initial inquiry by the Unification's crew indicates that the monstrous artifact now facing them is from the Vegan Tyranny…an ancient cybernetic species first introduced as a precursor race in Star Trek Classic.

Meanwhile the USS Iranon is orbiting the Cardassian world of Septimus III, still recovering from the wounds it received at the hand of a Breen Battle Cruiser and its escorts. Captain Carter faces a hard decision, make a run for Deep Space Nine or try to link up with the 27th Fleet now moving away from his position coreward along the Breen Confederacy trailing frontier? His decision is compounded by the fact that the 27th is moving further and further away from his current position. The way to Deep Space Nine has apparently be cleared by the arrival of a Romulan Senatorial Fleet led by none other than the notorious T'Cal Whix, Field Primus of the Romulan Imperial Navy. Whichever way Captain Carter takes his ship, one thing is for certain, the Iranon needs a shipyard facility to return to complete battle readiness.

Back at Cardassia Prime, political tensions are growing as the efforts to rebuild Cardassia following the Dominion atrocities continues to stall. The Federation supported Detapa Council continues to bicker and stumble while the post war casualties continues to climb. The shattered Central Command is fragmenting further as field commanders continue to fail to report in following the fleet recall issued by Legate Jak'Karr. This is all compounded by the beginnings of political infighting that are beginning as old factions try to reestablish themselves in the Cardassian political landscape.

The Klingons continue to stumble without direction or a firm plan of action. The return of Commander Erika Strong from the Klingon flagship with information concerning the immediate plans of Brigadier Wotan to the Starfleet ranks is a setback for his political ambitions. The Breen incursion into Cardassian space seems not to interest the Klingon leader of the 10th Expeditionary Fleet so much as the internal politics of Bajor…only time will tell if his insights are correct.

TURN OBJECTIVE:

 Cardassian: The removal of Legate Jak'Karr from the political plot line to place into an exploration format was obviously premature…based on the current situation as it is unfolding, how will he reestablish himself as head of the Cardassian government?  Federation: Unification - Pending waiting for the report of the recently dispatched Away Team. Iranon - What course do you take? a. Stay and seek aid from T'Cal Whix? b. Head toward Tzenkethi Space? (Their race has never been established - I am going to pattern them after they Kzinti/Aslan - felinoid.) c. Head straight back toward DS 9 across Cardassian Space.  Klingon: The Klingons are now the only Alpha Quadrant power in the Gamma Quadrant with the scout squadron in place. However to be inline with the current Deep Space Nine novels that are coming out I have brought us inline with what has been published. The Dominion will not hinder Federation Alliance exploration as long as Dominion Space is respected. The Klingons have their Vor'cha division in the Bajoran system. They are orbiting Bajor-Prime. Commander Strong has defected to Starfleet,…what will Wotan do next?  Romulan: T'Cal Whix has finally got a force sufficient for his plans. The Romulan expeditionary fleet will be approaching the play area along the Breen trailing frontier near where the Starfleet 27th Fleet is located, still many light years from T'Cal's personal senatorial fleet, but well within the play area and inside subspace communications range.
