Description

EpicMail is a licensee of the Legends game system - a PBeM war/fantasy game. The Ruins of Rome and Dark Domain are two of the worlds that players can participate in. You can join these EpicMail game worlds at no charge for the first few turns.

Opponents are real people, but the worlds are computer moderated; this is pretty good as there are no arbitrary rule and event outcomes. No computer can simulate the devious minds of real people.

The game worlds do change over time, too, and every experience is unique. The game system itself has over ten years of development, active play, and perfecting from role players all over the world. Each game provides a starting adventure and descriptive story line that becomes unique, enhanced - changed - by the participation of dozens of role players and power gamers involved in the world. Thus, no two games are alike.

Legends is a convenient system, since it is a play by email, once per week; it works within life (especially with spouses/mates, careers and kids). Turns can be submitted at any time prior to the scheduled run-date, as well. Bottom line is, there is a life outside the game world, play at your own pace and on your own schedule.

It is easy to get started... the new games are specifically designed for starting players. There are two ways to go about playing - learn through play - or study the rules book. It's pretty easy to get going.

The Ruins of Rome is an arena-style competition. You can play against game monsters or against other players. Learn the rules and explore the system while you play. Test new character designs and find the one that best fits your style.

The Dark Domain is an expanded Legends game, providing a more complex, competitive world for multi-player teams. Bring your own team of friends and bandits along - or use the Legends social network to meet other players. Then explore and conquer the world.
