The BETRAYERS dispatched their prototype ship into the void. It returned with the news a new world had been discovered. But a cursory scan revealed the legendary Masters inhabited it, possibly, creating a sense of panic. The world was class M with a highly developed civilization with satellites in orbit. No armed spacecraft were seen, but the scout withdrew before being detected and could not scan the surface.
The BOOS decided to test their scout prototype by scouring their home star system for alien artifacts. They discovered a large monolith on the dark side of their moon and a matching one on an airless moon of the furthest world in the system, a frozen wasteland where the sun looks just like any other star. There is no evidence of who might have constructed them, but they were obviously artificial. The clans are in turmoil.
The Dirdir developed a potent commercial aphrodisiac. Then they dispatched 150 scout ships into the void. (Although as a mercy, the crews were not issued the new drug.) They had wanted to send 243 ships, but the others weren't ready until the next turn. They explored dozens of star systems and catalogued hundreds of worlds. Most were airless rocks, although a few gas giants provided contrast. But they did discover two class M worlds. One was lifeless other than for single-celled organisms. The other had a well-developed biosphere with an indigenous Stone Age race. This triggered a debate about what to do with that world. Some stood for opening it for settlement. Others urged study of the alien culture. A few advocated protecting the entire world as a hunting preserve.
The Er'elim dispatched their single scout ship to the closest star system. It never returned. No one seems to know why.
The Herrenfolk dedicated the St. Adolf Cathedral (and there was much rejoicing.)
The Geth discovered a class M world they named M001. Their scout ship returned without having revealed its presence. The native civilization has satellites and a lunar colony. They appear to be constructing a large spacecraft in orbit. The Iron men are a race of petulant robots whose creators died out. They dispatched their prototype scout ship to explore their system. Other than a plethora (a robotic word that means "bunch") of worlds with vacuum or unbreathable atmospheres, they discovered an alien space probe orbiting the largest moon of a pinkish gas giant. The probe was coated in an organic material that turned out to be fecal matter. The probe was too small to mount a jump drive and appeared to have been in flight for a very long time. It is unknown where the coating was applied or for what unfathomable purpose.
The Janari Space Exploration Administration dispatched their single prototype scout ship into a nearby star system where they discovered a barely class M world. The Carusians considered it a nearly worthless desert world with very little moisture. The Suess disagreed, saying the world was a perfect vacation place, ideal for just basking on a rock. The Orion Syndicate has reportedly developed a new type of ablative spacecraft armor. Considered a form of spaceship tech, it supposedly makes their ships a little more effective, although that has yet to be demonstrated.
The Roko dispatched their prototype scout ship to cautiously explore the nearest star system. They discovered an otherwise arid but habitable world covered by an age-old junkyard of alien debris.
The Space Brotherhood scout ship returned with the news they had discovered a class M world with early industrial technology. The natives have recently constructed a network of steam-powered railroads across the primary continent.
