Our birthday Fête will include a masque, with a best Middle Eastern costume competition, a bocce tournament and a competition for Baronial Bard.

In breaking with our long tradition of non-fighting Birthday parties, this will be a fighting event. Yes, Hassan, there will be real heavy fighting!!! We will include melees and possibly (if the marshal and autocrat can agree) a Bear Pit tourney.

The feast will be prepared by our lovely Lady Kathleen Rose, ably assisted by Lady Rowen. In keeping with the Baroness' wishes, the feast will include many Turkish dishes.

There will be Arts & Sciences competitions besides those listed above. As it is spring, one of our competitions will concern flowers. In any form: written (poem), painted or drawn, arranged, edible, drinkable, embroidered or any way you can think of to show off flowers.

As Her Excellency wants this to be a fun event, one of the competitions will be Unfinished Projects more than a year old. So rummage through all your old projects that were never completed and drag one or two out. Documentation should include why you never completed the project. Judging will be based on the best reason for not completing the project.

The best Middle Eastern costume will be based on what people are actually wearing during the masque.
