Howdy all,

There's two interesting-looking concerts coming up at Stanford
University. Please refer to
http://music.stanford.edu/Events/calendar.html

The first is FREE, on Friday 15April05, 8pm in the Campbell
Reciatl Hall. "Friends of Music Faculty Showcase with Adam
Gilbert."
"Take a love song, preferably a popular one with a nice melody
and silly lyrics (if you think about them too much). Improvise
new voices with lots of fancy passagework and syncopated rhythms
for good measure to show off. Write very little down. Either be
forgotten, or remembered as one of the highest paid musicians of
the century. Jazz, right? Fifteenth-century musicians didn’t
call it that, but they did the same things. Come learn about
their sounds and techniques, and sing along. (Tap shoes and
interest in marginalia or esoteric French chanson texts
optional.)"

The second is also FREE, on Sunday 22May05 1:30pm in the
Memorial Church.
"Early Music Singers - Adam Gilbert, conductor
Sacred song of Franco-Flemish composers and lay confraternities"

Hope to see ya'll there,
Crystal of the Westermark
