This missive is being forwarded to all Pennsic teachers by Pennsic A&S. Your
name and email has not been given out to the project coordinators. Please
give serious consideration to their request. If you wish to participate, you
can turn in your notes/handouts at A&S point.

Unto the Teachers of the great Pennsic War does Garraed Galbraith, KMoAS for
the Northern Kingdom of Ealdormere send greetings, best wishes and a request
. . .
My staff and I (special thanks to Lady Gwendyon Casgudcath) have come up
with a plan to collect ALL of the teaching notes from the Pennsic War this
year and create from them a free digital compendium, which will be sent to
each KMoAS for all of the Kingdoms of the Society, as well as being hosted
as a free downloadable file (in multiple formats) on a website. We believe
this would be a great service to the people of Known World, and especially
to those who could not attend the war or specific classes.
With the Help of Mistress Chai'usun and her very competent staff, we hope to
be able to collect class notes in either hard copy (which may be dropped off
at the A&S registration tent at any time during the war) or digital format
(prefer .txt files, MS word, .rtf or .pdf) which will be assembled into a
single book after the end of the war. Digital class notes may be sent at any
time from now until to September 15/2003 to gwendyon at sympatico.ca
<mailto:gwendyon at sympatico.ca> or garraed at sympatico.ca
<mailto:garraed at sympatico.ca>
If you would like to participate in this project (and we hope everyone
does), there are some specific guidelines we would ask you to follow with
regard to your submissions:
1) Material under Copyright (especially artwork) must either have permission
from the creator to be included, or (in the case of text) be properly quoted
and credit given (preferably with bibliography)
2) Where possible, please cite your sources. The hope of this collection is
as a free educational tool. Works collected will be published 'as is',
excepting where layout changes are needed for space considerations. We will
not be checking for accuracy of facts, but those using it will certainly
assume you have.
3) Your contact information and a short (50 words) bio. This should include
at least your real and SCA name, as well as Kingdom of residence. Email or
mailing address may be included, but is not required. If you include your
email, you will be notified when the project is complete and how you can get
a copy of the compendium in the format of your choice.
We know that not every teacher uses class notes, but we hope that, if you do
not normally do so, you might reconsider in light of this project. We hope
that, if this project is successful, to continue the tradition in future
years.
Any questions or comments on the project may be sent to garraed at sympatico.ca
<mailto:garraed at sympatico.ca>
Thank you for your attention and support,
Yours in Service,
