Well the ambiguity was that i thought the quiet hours were at
midnight, and started the trend.

When i read the pennsic book, i noted they start at 1am.

Perhaps more along the lines of pinned (hinge) flats.
to get the "shell" part is going to require at least a couple
triangular pieces of plywood.
Perhaps 4x7' (the walls are 8' so the shell needs to be a little
shorter to fit nicely) pieces with a triangle or square perminently
hinged to a short end that would fit together.

You know.. i did consider throwing the bed into the trailer for that
very reason.... but thought it might actually be someone's sleeping
place that night.

I think there is a misconception... the BFB is/was a dance Ball, open
to *everyone*, sponsored by the clan. the focus used to be almost *all*
dancing (my recollection)... then they got ousted from the barn to
nasty tents/floors so they came up with some other schtick. if they
have an appropriate venue, i think there will be more dancing. There
was a good bit of dancing the first year when it was in the
tent. (although some of the the other filler schtick was still
present... it was entertaing, and not so different to the masque
entertainment Margaret Macdubhshite and I did in XXV (i think that was
the right year))
