I've made a general request to Frog for doing so.... but it wasn't
"official"... just a "hey, if you happen to have ground moving
equipment around.... could you take a scrape or two at the dance tent
area..." Unfortunately he went off, as he thought we (dance
community) had left entirely, leaving the tarp we left out to dry, and
the paint cans (BTW alternate arrangements for storage were
veto-ed by the folks...so i ended up with them again).

He also said that there were "dance flyers strewn everywhere"
I assured him it was being taken care of, and then did so.

When i went to fold the tarp, i found total:
1 pennsic independant
1 buffons handout.
1 pennsic schedule book (the red one)
1 CD (See previous post)
and lest than 5-6 other bits of random trash (small enough to only
take one trip to the trash can)

Hardly the gosh awful mess that he described.... eh, he probably had a
stressful war.

There was also a bed (and later that evening *lots* of beds from folks
who wanted to get their tents away before the storm sat night no
doubt) but that's not our problem.

I picked/cleaned up everything except the bed... ;)

This is a problem, but for first week at least, i think that the
healthier option is better.

BTW... unless the dance tent is a quiet zone, we were shutting up an
hour early. Quite hours in quiet zone start at 10pm, rest of
campground, at 1am.

>- Not as many seats / places for stuff as the barn has. This year we had 50
I would suggest we ask for 100 next year, and at least on more table.

>It's been suggested to make some sort of cubby shelf for people to
>keep their stuff in the tent. Maybe request people bring milk
Yes... that was in the original plans.... but we didn't get there.
Dance is at night. Folks tend to have extra stuff then, lanterns,
cloaks, etc. With seating limited, and folks using chairs to store
their stuff instead of their butts, it got worse.

Space in the trailer is starting to get tight... (although we were
able to store some stuff for heralds point) so anything we build would
have to be break downable. I'm thinking several sheets of plywood
which have fold down shelves on hinges. (unless we can make a
collapsible cubby hold system.) Other ideas?

>I don't know where the bandshell budget stands, this would have to
>depend on how much money and manpower we have next year.
We have much of the lumber for the bandshell, we just didn't have the
energy to put it up (i have to apologize, i was really mentally
whooped this year and took it easier than i felt i should have). We
would really like to decorate it... i was thinking trompe l'orei
(sp?) which is an optical illusion of reality. Either panels,
windows, curtains, "shelves" with instruments on them, etc. I am
not, however, an artist of that sort.

>- More isolation from the general populace. Although this cut down on
>noise, I imagine we lost a few random passers-by who might have wanted to
again... i'm a bit at odds. i really like the happier lower
extremities (get your mind out of the gutter... it's a small gutter,
and there is only room for mine :) but miss the barn some.

What we need is a set of wooden steps for people to hang out and block
access to the musicians area... ;)

BTW, we have our first event request:
the Blue Feathers want to host their (open) ball in the tent on
the last Thursday. They keep getting shunted to a place where they
can't dance... and I wanted to make sure we know about it early so
that doesn't happen ever again. (When i started... the BFB was a great
night held thursday in the barn... then courts started taking forever
and they got shuffled off to nasty small tents with poles and uneven
ground, making dancing next to impossible.)
