Okay, I've sat on this long enough. Perhaps I should found a
Procrastinator's Guild... later?
Here's the plan for our lovely dance floor. I am begging for volunteers
to help in any part of it! I am assuming that we still want to extend the
floor. I have been told by Pennsic Tech Services that our trailer will be
at the dance tent before we are there. :)
SATURDAY (LAND GRAB DAY) --
It would be REALLY good to get the lumber this day, as I haven't a clue if
anything would be open Sunday.
Does anyone have a vehicle that could handle 8 or 12 sheets of 3/4 inch
plywood and 25 8 ft 2x4's? Can anyone help in unloading said vehicle,
Saturday afternoon or evening?
SUNDAY --
Starting Sunday, I'd like to have some old sections out for people to
continue painting parquet designs. Please feel free to come paint a
parquet or more between now and the assembly!
For the new parts:
1. Get lumber if we didn't on Saturday
2. Cut sleepers
3. Waterproof new lumber
4. If waterproofing dry, get new sections primed
MONDAY and TUESDAY --
Painting Parquets, a Pleasant Pasttime
WEDNESDAY --
Main floor assembly! We need people, we need drills! Even you can send a
drill but can't come, that's okay! We need drills! :)
THURSDAY through THURSDAY --
Many dance classes, many dance parties, much fun!
FRIDAY --
The ball is scheduled for 10 PM in the barn. The last dance class ends at
5 PM. Therefore, IMMEDIATELY following the last class, we need to take
the floor apart and load it. We need LOTS of people. We need drills
again -- REALLY need drills. We had a great group of people doing this
last year, and it took about an hour. It is very important that we're
working on this as soon as the class ends, with many people, to give
people time to have dinner and get ready for the ball afterwards.
Last but not least -- if anyone is interested in taking over the dance
floor for next year, please feel free to start taking notes now. :) (I'll
be at the end of my master's degree, and might not even make it to
Pennsic)
Yay, dancing!
