I'll give you something to go off of then.

I like the recreation aspect. But we have enough trouble having people know
enough Italian. Adding to that a resposibility to know period compotment
gets even more difficult. Then your assuming that they have done some
research rather than just learned a dance from someone else in a class.

But, at least when I hit a Coroso Ball, I make an effort. It does require
more role play to start assesing poeple and critisizing them... but it can
be fun saying that the men look like a flock of hens or something.

I like sitting seperated. Theres something fun about staring at the Laidies
from accross the hall, trying to decide which would be best to ask. I watch
them to see who would make me look like the best possible dancer, since each
dance is basically a performance and you are offering yourself up for
critisism. Also, it is a chance to dance with someone I dont normally dance
with. Yes, I like dancing with my regular partner, but I also choose
someone new.

Sometimes its like a challenge tourney... you get a chance to ask a dancer
of more noteriety to dance with you. And if you stand to thier measure,
those on the sides recognize your change in skill. (Well, and if you flub
it... thats a rish too lol)

>	dance-centric

Yea, I like this too. I like not having the pressures of the common
favorites. I like it being someone exclusive. Yes, I like dancing Hole in
the Wall - sure. But I dont really like doing it at SCA events. I just
like the hightened difficulty. To be honest, I dont even like watching
Gracca Amaroso at Coroso balls... I think its too common now... the kids
have taken it over. ;-) lol - see there I go. Who said being a snob wasnt
period?

>	I'd be happy with either, they've both got good and bad points

It comes to this too. I am just happy to dance. And, at least with a
lottery sysyem Ihave more of a chance to dance. And I certainly dont like
being left out...

>	I'd like to figure out how to do both at once

Yea, if there is a way this would be cool. And for all I can think of it,
its not really coming about. But I'll continue to consider.

There are my thoughts, hope it helps some...
