I suspect if we hold the Ball on Friday we'll lose a fair number of casual
dancers; a lot of groups hold big farewell parties on Friday, since it's
usually the last night everyone is still around.  If we're mostly
interested in providing ourselves (i.e., the dance nuts!) a big climax to
the end of war, then I think a Friday Ball would work well.  But if we want
the Ball to attract a lot of non-dance nuts, we might think seriously about
whether Friday is apt to have too many conflicts.

Personally, I *like* the Tuesday ball because it doesn't generally clash
with too much.  My household always holds something on Friday, and since I
usually spend most of my time with the dancers, it's nice to be able to
skip out on dancing one night to see all of them! I'd hate to miss the Ball.
