And apologies are owed elsewhere as well. I know that trying to pick up
the pieces of the Pennsic Pile at Pennsic really made the first week of
Pennsic hard on Greg. I had promised Greg that folks in the Debatable
Lands would take care of revising the Pennsic Pile. We had even made
progress on it, until Sol moved away. She had assured both Greg and
myself that things were going apace, but mundane life (she got married in
July) got in the way and suddenly she realized she was not going to be
able to finish. Greg picked up the pieces (literally - what we got back
from her was a collection of new music, the Pile from last year, and draft
notes, each in a separate envelope - and just before Pennsic). Greg did
an amazing job of putting together a coherent Pile and making it all work
out. So, we need to make certain that we remember that some of the things
that go wrong are simply beyond any reasonable person's control, and move
on.

Greg, you did a great job on a lot of things, and we all appreciate that
(at least I know I do). Over the last several years, I have watched with
pride as dance at Pennsic has gotten better and better and more and more
organized. I feel like I started a few things, but in many real senses,
Greg has been the impetus behind these changes. Now, the issue is, how do
we keep the improvement going? How do we keep developing? So, instead of
pointing fingers, we need to focus on how things could be better next
year, and the year after that, and the year after that.
